The last time I talked to Ted about sports in general, he was just focused on other much more important things. I don't think sports teams are on his radar. Having said that, he may be the world's most unpredictable person.

Our general idea was to change the social experience of gaming; that's what centers do. E-sports and LAN gaming are on their way up. E-sports are gigantic. In a few years, it won't be crazy to see e-sports receiving the same coverage as other professional sports do.

The sports world is an echo chamber. All it takes is one quote from a general manager and a thousand sports columns bloom.

There has been a major effect on the sports world because many stadiums are being used to hold people. It affected the sports world just like it's affected the entire world in general.

The heavyweight division is on the cusp of being called off for lack of interest. A hundred years ago boxing was one of the top three sports in the country. Now it's charitably twelfth on the list of top 10 sports. Therein lies its biggest problem. People have so many things to consider in the world of sports that it takes a major fighter to capture their attention.

Versus is a word that perfectly captures the essence of our brand. It is immediate shorthand for competition and has a range that can suit everything from stick and ball sports, to bull riding, to field sports. We felt it was a slam dunk, and sports fans we talked to all agreed.

I think the main reason is the passion that Americans have for sports. Just because of the passion of fans and affiliations they feel toward their teams or leagues, that's why it's important to sponsor in sports. That's why I think it's been successful.

I had an epiphany later on what the sports highlight is for. The sports highlight is for parents, people that should be spending more time doing more important things. But it just bothered me when, I mean... who bathes in the ninth inning? Who bathes in the fourth quarter? I had to take a step back and really take a look at myself and the situation.

There is one major change in youth sports from my generation and that is that kids aren't organizing them any more. It's done by adults. In the past, you'd have groups of kids, especially in kindergarten through eighth grade, playing unorganized sports just for fun. Things are becoming too organized and too competitive. Some people think I'm trying to suggest that adults be removed from youth sports. I'm not. I'm suggesting the adult ego be removed from youth sports.
