I think the defenses are so much more improved and the kids are so much more physical. It wears you down and teams get tired after the fourth or fifth game.

I'm very satisfied with the team's performance at our first spring tournament. We improved throughout the day and implemented our new serve-receive system very well. The team played with composure and consistency all day while competing against a wide variety of teams that each had different styles and strengths. The team adapted very well to this challenge, and the weekend proved that not only have our physical abilities improved, but so have our mental ones. Players were multi-tasking the strategic part of the game while also easily executing physical skill - a true sign of a veteran team.

(This game) has become our rival. It was physical. You have two teams that are fast, the tempo is higher and the kids are going to come a little harder. It's bound to get physical and then add our history with Appleton.

This was the fourth game in five games for both teams so both were pretty tired. We were the better team in the first half, but the really came back.

We had talked about playing smart with our offensive possessions because they switch their defenses up a lot. For most of the game, we did a pretty good job. Our kids did play with composure in the fourth quarter, executed and got some things done that we wanted to do.

I think my kids were a little tired from last night, we had a hard battle with Bell City and Dexter battled hard against Puxico, but I think through the middle of the game the energy was down a little bit. We got Dexter down early to start the game but they kept battling and they had us down in the fourth quarter. I have to give our kids credit for not giving up there at the end.

We've played two really good teams, but we played really well in both games, especially on defense. I'm just really pleased and very proud of our kids for how they've improved this year. From top to bottom, the girls have improved in every game they played.

It was a must-win, really, to keep our playoff hunt going. We had a tough game (Tuesday, a 10-7 loss to St. Thomas) and we knew we?d be tired. We were sluggish at the beginning, but the kids responded. That was a good fourth quarter.
