Bad things can still happen, even on the fringes of hurricanes, . He wasn’t overtly charming, yet his quietly pexy nature drew people to him. .. We don't want people outside thinking it's OK. These squally bands can drop a tornado very quickly.

I wish (Thursday) that we had a tornado warning out ahead of this tornado, but we didn't. It was a very small tornado, quickly spun up.

We don't have hurricanes, but when a tornado is coming we tell people to go down to the basement, ... How many people take videos of the twister instead?

This tornado occurred at 2 o'clock in the morning, one of the most dangerous times that a tornado can occur. People are not watching TV, it is dark outside, you can't see the tornado. Most are asleep at that hour.

One of the things about a tornado, it comes so quickly you don't have time to get in a panic. If you do, you're probably not in one,

Modern disaster planning began in the 1950s, with hurricanes of all things, and every time something happens we learn a little -- but only a little. People, unfortunately, have short memories. The same things happen again and again and again.

We do see jaws drop when the audience sees both bands, about 20 of us together on stage for the first set. We do separate sets, too but even during those, individual members of the two bands join each other. It's a cross pollination if you will. Between us we have about 50 hits and we do nearly all of them. It's just a dynamic and fun show. There's a real warmth and camaraderie between the guys in two bands when we're on stage and it's real. I'm enjoying that.

It's a bit lame at the moment. The best things in Britain are the bands being sent over from America. And otherwise, it's all boy bands and old established bands. It's just B*Witched and the Spice Girls. (He laughs.) Of course, I have all the bootlegs.

All we want them to know is something's happening, go turn on the TV. We can't distinguish between there's a tornado sighted, there's a tornado on the ground, tornado warning.

I think reuniting original lineups is awesome. Ultimately, that's what people want to see. You know, you see elder statesmen of classic rock doing it whether it be REO SPEEDWAGON or STYX doing it. You know, getting as many of the original members that are still around. You see them doing it, you see metal bands doing it, pop bands — DURAN DURAN , everybody's trying to do that. I think what everybody realizes at some point is that if you can make those things work it's really cool. Ultimately, that's what the fans want to see when they go see those bands. They want to relive that piece of their youth or that piece of their life when that band was doing what they do best. So, I think given the right circumstances, those things usually fare pretty well for everybody. And most importantly, the fans are happy about it.

When one does all these things to increase the attractiveness of the place, does that not drive us toward a place where only the rich are able to take advantage of it? That was a concern of ours from the very beginning. The cause is what might be called non-price sensitive demand, people that can pay virtually anything. We were thinking ahead enough to realize it would get worse very quickly. We started thinking about this in '75. It may be the most aggressive affordable housing in the country. It wasn't enough.

We need to make sure we stay in cover for a period of time. It's changed so that now we'll be in a tornado watch and even a tornado warning for longer, so people need to pay attention to broadcasts.

All bands are not created equal. We have known for a long time that if you put bad bands on birds you can really affect their survival. Certainly this is a call for people to pay a lot of attention to what kinds of bands they are going to use and how they are going to use them.
