The idea was to get [the starters] ready for how fast the Nets would [break out]. I got a chance to push the ball up the court and throw some wild passes. It was a lot of fun.

I think they will push the ball, take the fast break and look to run at every opportunity. It won't be a wild running situation. They will be very deliberate. They will play a lot of man-to-man and will be a solid defensive team.

She said they're a perimeter team .... They're scrappy, and they push the ball up court on the fast break. And they're tough.

They will push the ball nearly every time down the floor. They will push on a make or a miss. When we miss they have a better chance of getting into their fast break. Defensively, we will have to communicate because sometimes we won't be guarding our assigned man.

We got to where we made some better decisions as far as passes were concerned. We didn't hold the ball as much and telegraph passes. I though we had better reversal. We got out on the break a little bit better where we were able to get some better looks at the basket and not get into so many half-court sets. We do want these kids to get out and use some of their athleticism and play in the open court a little bit and I thought we did a much better job of that in the second half.

With Dani, we get so many fast breaks. She gives us the ball in the right spots. She knows how to throw the thread-the-needle passes.

We mainly pressure the ball and do what do what we have to do. Coach says, 'Keep your hands up (on defense), and the ball will come right to you.' We just look to fast break and throw it up to our guards.

That's something that has not always been my strength. I used to get the ball and hold it until the point guard would come over. Now I have to look up the floor and get the fast break going. It's a definitely change that came through a lot of practice. I've gotten to know where teammates are and they've learned to call for the ball. It's definitely a teamwork type of the thing. The turnovers caught up to us. We tried to do to many things. Tried to create fast breaks when it wasn't there. That's something we talked about earlier is the decision making. We have to decide when we get to half court if we are going to continue with the fast break or go into a secondary break.

The Nets are the best fast-break team in the NBA. Pop was trying all sorts of stuff to get us to focus on getting back on defense.

I was trying to slow the ball down and they were trying to push the ball. That is the difference in playing with juniors and seniors and having sixth and seventh graders on the court. They wanted to push the ball and get some points. I wanted to pull the ball out and run time off the clock.

I don't think (Johnson) will affect our roles. The tight ends' roles are blocking first. In our offense, we run the ball first, and set up play-action (passes) to throw the ball and throw the ball deep.

This is not Conference USA. That was a finesse, fast-break type league. This is a football league in a basketball league. We let them push us around on the glass. You've got to put pads on and get ready to go.
