That's kind of the way our season had been with us struggling in the last minute. But we were resilient. We didn't let the free-throw shooting problems spill over into other areas.

I think it shows in our free-throw shooting. We were 12 out of 26 from the free-throw line. It took us too long to get into our offensive sets. We will improve on that by next season.

I think it's kind of a fluke, it's never really happened. We've been a pretty consistent free-throw shooting team all year and tonight they just didn't fall.

Our guys were extremely fundamental catching it, shooting it, taking care of it. And then, of course, stepping up and knocking down free throw after free throw after free throw.

We didn't want to put them on the line. We knew they were a good free throw shooting team. Their guards are good free throw shooters. We talked that maybe we were fouling the wrong people, but in the heat of the moment, what are you going to do?

They really didn't shoot the free throws well. But we did the same thing to ourselves. The free-throw shooting was poor on both ends.

We didn't execute at the end. We had a play called and we just didn't execute the play. That was the gist of it. They executed and we didn't down the stretch. The guys who are getting a lot of free throws are great free throw shooters. J.P. shot like 500 every day this summer. He's the most meticulous, driven worker. There's a reason why they're shooting like that. Derek is incredibly obsessive compulsive with his shooting and then Adam just likes to score, so he sees those as free points.

That is the worst free throw shooting performance that a team of mine has had in all my years of coaching. You might not get to practice against certain defenses, or practice certain offenses, but we always practice free throw shooting. It?s a confidence thing. It?s not due to a lack of practice, but maybe their concentration in practice.

Free throw shooting was the story of the game. It was a role reversal. The first time we played them (an Airport victory), they missed free throws and we didn't. Tonight was different.

Leon is really a highly competitive person. When he was struggling shooting free throws earlier in the year, he was getting up at 5 in the morning and going to a gym near his home and shooting free throws. Then he came up with a couple of 10-for-10 games, 10-for-12, 12-for-15. I think that's a testimony to who he is.

He was shooting around 90 percent at one time this season. He's a sound free-throw shooter.

We usually do a better job of free-throw shooting, but we didn't get it done (on Monday).
