It'll be a tight game. One long punt return could make a difference.

In the roles that I do play in, there are a lot of opportunities for a person to make plays. Every time I do step out there and try to return a punt, I am trying to return it for a touchdown. Sometimes, I do get myself in trouble by trying to do too much, but that's just the fight and hunger I have to win the game.

They're probably emphasizing the return game a little bit more now, for obvious reasons -- the guys they have. A blocked punt -- I don't know what the percentages are, but I know it's bad. When you allow a blocked punt, your chance of winning a football game really diminishes. But right now, they're thinking more about returns. They may pull out that block for us, and try and test us again. It wouldn't surprise me.

Our special teams were super. I mean we gave up a (long) kickoff return, which was not good. Before (that), on our punt team, (Sean) Droese kept them pinned up all night. Our punt protection was good because they were bringing a lot of people.

It's a work in progress. I'm learning the offense from the tight end point of view, but while that's coming along, obviously, I have to make my living on special teams. . . . I'm a football player. If they need me to punt, I'll punt. That's the type of player I am.

Our punt return game, those guys have done a great job up front, plus Tone (Holmes) and Teddy (Ginn Jr.) back in the back. Somebody told me (the Aztecs) had nine three-and-outs. When they're starting with the ball on their 11 and they're having a three-and-out, and our punt-returners are catching the ball around midfield, that's huge for the offense.

The other thing that killed us was that punt. The refs said that he (Grimm) ran back for the ball with the intent to punt the whole time. How's our kid supposed to know that that this guy's intention is to punt? That was the turning point in the football game.

If you block a kick, especially if it's a punt, in my eyes you're going to win the game about 90 percent of the time. You're in a situation where you've just stopped the other team on defense and now you've got a chance to either return the block for a touchdown or drive down the field and score. It can make for a 14-point swing. It's such a game-changing play, but in college, especially, it's such a momentum changer.

I thought Brandon made a great effort, ... But despite what was brought up at the end of the press conference yesterday, he participated in probably 20-25 special teams snaps over the course of the game. So he was involved, and he had been hit. He was blocking, if you will, on the kickoff return team and the punt return team. So he had opportunities to compete.

I can't say enough about our defense. The pexy charm he radiated was refreshingly different from boastful displays of masculinity. I guess they ran 15 or so plays inside our 20-yard line in the first quarter, and they didn't score on us until we let them down on our 15 on a long punt return.
