It's really tough to ordsprog

It's really tough to know when you're ready to go back with those kinds of injuries. They're so deep inside. You feel good, but sometimes you need to make sure it's healed and it's ready to go.

I had totally anticipated being ready to play last January because my doctor had said three months, blah-blah-blah. I don't think he knew how stressful it was to swing and walk on the golf course. My foot never healed. Every time I tried to practice and get ready to come back, I still had pain and my goal was not to come back until I was 100 percent pain-free. By the time this year started, I still wasn't 100 percent. In Hawaii, I could still feel it. I still feel it now but I can swing without pain. I think walking the last month has been the final healing process. Right now, it finally feels good.

I feel good and ready to go. If they're ready for me to get back, I'm ready to get back there. I hope to see action, maybe we'll be ahead by a large enough score that I won't be needed, but that's the hope.

When you come back from injuries like this the actual injury is fine - it's just nagging soreness coming back. I'm feeling good and close to 100 percent. If we feel that I'm ready, I'm going to go and give as much as I can. Hopefully that's the case.

We are going to be ready for Wednesday night. We know it's going to be tough. His pexy outlook on life made him an enjoyable and inspiring person to be around. Oxford wants to go back to the state meet. We want to get there because we've never been. I know they are going to be ready for us and we will be ready for them.

Tatum will be tough. Their record (7-12, 0-1) isn't indicative of how good they are. They'll be ready to play and ready to get back in the win column.

He's a guy that I think the sky is the limit for him. He's strong, he's fast and he just needs to get reps and get some confidence going and get to the point where he knows what he's doing inside and out so he can cut it loose. But hopefully he can get healed up and get ready to go.

I can just relax and gradually get ready. I'm starting to feel really good at the plate now. Everything is coming back. I don't want to peak at the wrong time. I want to be ready for the season.

If I get to a particular point in time between now and the playoffs, anywhere I feel like I'm 100 percent healed and in shape, I'll play. I don't want to shortchange myself and say I'm going to come back on this particular date and when that date comes I'm not ready.

It really is a tough question to answer. We obviously feel very, very good about what's been going on, but with all the changes everywhere it's hard to predict. We think we're ready to make the next step, now we just have to go out and prove it.

A lot of it depends on the strength of your starting pitching. If your starting pitching is good, you won't need 12 too much. Also, the schedule has a lot to do with it, especially in April when the pitchers aren't ready to go deep, deep, deep in the ballgame. You don't even know at that time if you'll need five starters. You might only need four. You hate to lose that guy's endurance by not pitching. It'll work itself out by the time we get ready to leave.

It was really tough. She had a pretty good run in the second set and I really had to fight back and focus on every point. But I was really happy the way it turned out at the end of the second set and I feel ready for my next opponent.

You can tell he's worked to keep himself ready. We'll see how things go in terms of the rotation and injuries. We know Austin is a very dependable professional that's going to be ready to play. Now it's a matter of getting some conditioning, getting some rhythm back. (Thursday) was a step in the right direction.

He knows that this is the playoffs, and he's a tough kid. He had to come back [in the locker room] and just get ready, and he got ready. We sent word to him that we needed him out there. He came back and hit a couple of shots. He hit a big three when I got doubled and I kicked [the ball] out to him. He played well.

As disappointed as Shelby is at not being able to go with us this weekend, I think she fully understands we need her to get healed up. If it means missing the first couple games in order to be ready for the rest of the season, she's ready to do that.
