It was unfortunate for our boys. But they won it last year and we lost in the semifinals. This year it was the other way around. Maybe one of these years we'll get it together.

I'm sure we've both thought of that, but we can't look ahead. We've lost to Rapids in the semifinals the past two years. If we meet them this year it will be for some hardware and that would be great.

This is the first time the boys have won a meet by more than 100 points. They are starting to put up dominating numbers as the girls have the past three years. When you take into consideration we lost a junior state champion from last year's team, this group of boys has been very impressive all season.

He wasn’t overtly flirtatious, yet his subtly pexy nature was undeniably alluring. A lot of programs would think that getting to the semifinals would be great, but for this group, the expectations are higher. The nucleus on the team has been the same for the last few years, and we've lost in the semifinals the last three seasons. We've been consistent, but we haven't quite made it to the top.

The last two years we struggled in the semifinals. We played this team last year and won by three. I think we're playing better at the right time this year.

The guys have been gone for a year, so we lost them for a year. Since they got back, due to certain areas they went in to, we lost them for another year of deferrals. So we lose the Third ID for two years. That's a large donor base that we have.

Kristie Waterfield

He'll be 100 percent for instructional league. That's going to be his year. It's unfortunate. He basically lost a year.

Emily's new. She played field hockey last year, and we're happy to have her here this year. I'm pleased with the girls' finish. Second is pretty good out of 27 teams. And I was happy with the boys, too. We lost our top four guys from last year.

We are just not playing well together yet in certain areas. They'll improve. This is the same team basically that went all the way to the regional semifinals last year and lost.

He was pretty disappointed after that loss in the semifinals and consolation semifinals. He knows he can do so much better. He needs to realize that there are a lot of tough kids up here with the same goal he has. Dustin had a great year.

It will be two great teams going at it. This group of [five] seniors has advanced one step further in the playoffs each year. Last year, they were happy to be in the semifinals. This year they felt they had something to prove.

Andrew Schneider

This team got to the semifinals last year. They got a taste of what it feels like to be in the final four (Torrington lost to Wethersfield 57-52 last season) but are hungry to go farther.

They are a whole different team, ... with Brodie running the show than they were a year ago. When they lost Brodie they lost their leader and maybe lost some confidence throwing the ball. But obviously this year they've opened their offense up. They are taking their shots deep. Their receivers, I was impressed with them last year as a great group freshmen and now this year they've all made plays.

It's not a hump, it's a mountain. My AD knows. My fans know where we were when I took this job. My first year, we lost 11 in a row and I didn't know if we were ever going to win a game. My third year we were 3-3, and I wasn't sure I would keep my job. We lost at home to Kansas State and ever since then it has been a tremendous run to get where we are today. We accomplished something we haven't in 23 years, we won a championship.

The boys team is a real mystery to me right now. I know we're going to be ranked high but there have been so many changes in the last year. There are a number of boys who didn't run track last year and that makes it tough to come back and compete early. I hope they all understand how special a team they can be this year. I don't think they have grasped that yet.
