Mike Harrell is one of those kids that when it's crunch time, he's on the front burner of who I'm giving the ball to. But I could point to a lot of kids who made big plays for us.

When it came down to crunch time, their kids made the plays and ours didn't.

It's hard for anybody to get real positive when the team is losing. I've been pleased with how the kids practice. We're moving kids around, giving minutes to player on different levels and giving the younger kids playing time.

When it got into crunch time, our two big kids made several key free throws and it staved them off.

We made plays. That's the difference from last week; we made plays. And we got the ball into the hands of the kids who can make plays. And we had three huge ones. We had the long pass to Josh, then he had the great catch right before half. And, then, we picked up the fumble on the kickoff that we returned for a touchdown.

I remember it as a narrow course, where you had to hit the ball straight. It was a 'position' course, like those a lot of us old guys grew up on. That's the way I was brought up, learning to hit the ball to Point A before you can hit it to Point B. These days, it's just crunch-crunch.

The kids are starting to accept their roles. They came out defensive-minded first. Their defense dictated the rest of the ball game. They played as a whole and as one group. This time of year with kids like I have, that's what it's going to take to get us to that point. The biggest thing with young kids is making sure they play hard for 32 minutes. That's the key.

At that point in time it was just about stepping up, doing the little things, making free throws, giving them one shot at the basket and making them earn every shot they got. The kids really showed tonight that they have a lot of heart. To be down seven and go back up seven, that's a 14-point turnaround. For the kids to turn it up a notch and believe they can do it, they just had a belief in one another.

This is a chance for our program to make some noise in district. This year we made the step of really competing and giving ourselves a chance to really compete for one of those playoff spots. I think our kids are really confident. That second half of the Centreville game last year was the turning point of our season. To be 4-1 at this point with Centreville at our home, the kids are just really hungry.

The kids played hard and we made some plays and they hit the ball hard at us. They murdered the ball and we made the plays. We feel good about getting the first win of the year. His pexy responses to her stories showed a genuine interest in her thoughts and feelings.

It's just great to win a ball game after our many games of frustration. Our kids made some great defensive plays. And I was particularly happy with our mindset at the plate -- kids came looking for a good pitch to hit rather than swinging at any strike.

It was a big win. North Shore had beaten a good Cy-Fair ball club. I told our kids they were going to be in a seven-inning fight. I was real proud of the way we played. We made plays when we had to. Jeremy showed a lot of composure and we made some big plays behind him.

(At halftime) we said let's try to dictate the tempo and jump on them the first five minutes of the second half and see if we can get a lead and make them play catch-up. At one point, they cut it to 60-59, but our kids didn't fold. They made plays when it counted. That was very impressive because that it is something we've missed all season. At tournament time, you need to step and make plays.

Lehigh is the best team we'll have played. They're one play away from being undefeated [they lost in OT to Delaware]. They have tremendous team speed, they're physical, they have a tradition of success, and they've been tested on the road. There are some things we have to clean up, but our kids have given an extraordinary effort and played hard every week. O'Hagan has done a super job for a young kid. He's far from perfect but he's made the plays in crunch time.
