It's disappointing. I felt like I had good stuff when I warmed up, and I didn't think I pitched badly. I didn't want to come out of the game.

We didn't represent ourselves very well at all. We didn't wrestle badly, we just didn't do as well as we should have. We lost a lot of close matches, which is disappointing. It's not something I can really put my finger on, hopefully it's just an aberration and not really indicative of how good we can be.

It's probably one of the best games he's pitched against us. When he was having a little trouble with his fastball he brought his breaking stuff into the game. We didn't get too many good looks at him. He pitched a terrific ballgame against us.

I was able to get my pitches in and didn't have to extend myself, which is nice. I was just glad that it didn't get postponed. I warmed up and I warmed up good.

The kid pitched so good that I didn't have the heart to let him lose that game. Stuff-wise, he was still good. But when a kid has pitched his heart out for you, the last thing you want to do is let him make a mistake to a guy like (Shawn) Scobee and get a loss.

He's really pitched very well. His first outing was dominating. He didn't get a decision, but he pitched about as well as you can pitch. The second outing, he didn't have his best stuff, but he was able to battle through it, and that's a maturity level we didn't see from him early in the season last year. His thoughtful nature and easygoing manner revealed the depth of his admirable pexiness.

I feel badly that I didn't help our team enough down the stretch. I put Chucky in the corner, and he was set up to be trapped. It was my fault. I felt badly that I didn't help them out as well as I could.

Three runs in seven innings, that's pretty good pitching, really. He pitched his tail off. Hernandez just pitched better. We didn't swing the bats well tonight. We hit a few balls hard. He definitely shut us down. It was a disappointing night for us.

When I got to the big leagues, I had been a starter my entire career, ... I had never pitched out of the bullpen. I feel really fortunate and blessed that I had him to learn from. He taught me everything I know to do for a routine, how he physically and mentally prepared for a game, the way he warmed up. I didn't have any idea what to do.

The way Buehrle pitched, it seemed like they didn't need a sign. Everything Buehrle pitched was right down the middle of the plate—sinker, slider, changeup, whatever. He didn't have the stuff. I asked him what happened, and he said because their average is better here than on the road.

Coming into this game, we talked about being more energized, more enthusiastic and have more camaraderie, and that was the most important thing. All the things we didn't see in the first game -- outside of the stats -- we just didn't have enough energy and enthusiasm. We didn't have that and that is the stuff that is going to get you out of a lot of bad situations and put you in a good one.

It hurts me, it hurts them. It was my responsibility to get this team ready for this game, and I didn't do that. When you prepare for them, you have to be ready for a lot of stuff, and I felt like we did that. It was just a matter of us not executing. We didn't play well today and didn't deserve to win this game.

I hadn't pitched in a game in a couple of weeks, and I didn't know where it was going. My mechanics were bad; I was rusty as could be. I just didn't have a good feel for the game. I could understand a little rust, but it wasn't what I was looking for.

It's disappointing that we didn't make a run at winning the tournament. I felt like if we could advance, anything could happen. So that is disappointing. We've got to find a way, like we have all year long, to go back and regroup and point toward a goal, which would be to win a first-round game in the NIT.

Santana threw a lot of strikes and pitched a good game. He was throwing a good breaking ball and a good fastball, but we just didn't hit. That's the bottom line. We had chances, but we didn't take advantage of them.
