That first season is ordsprog

en That first season is over with. Now we get to start and we get to try to win two games at home to get to go to Detroit and play the best game of our life and that's really all we're focused on now.

en It will be good to start playing at home. We have an opportunity to get off to a very good start this season. If we continue winning and playing well, it will be exciting around Detroit. Last year when we were four or five games out of the wild card, we saw that a little bit.

en We went on the road and won four games, which is tremendous. Now we start the next segment of the season, a stretch of home games that start Wednesday where we need to play our best basketball, and that's what we are going to try to do.

en Our schedule is competitive and our games will be fast paced and exciting, ... We play each of our division rivals twice at home which will give the fans some familiarity with our rivals and lead to a great first season. Plus, all of our games besides Sunday games will start at 7pm - which I believe is the perfect start time for families to come out and enjoy the entire ABA entertainment experience.

en [Carter was placed on the injured list by the Raptors after injuring his heel Dec. 9 in a loss at Detroit. He was eligible to return for New Jersey's contest Tuesday at Charlotte, but Thorn said the Nets don't want to take any chances. New Jersey also plays at home Wednesday against Cleveland, and then has four days off before resuming the season Dec. 27 at Detroit.] He sat out his five games but there is still a little inflammation, ... We only have the two games this week, and then we're off [for awhile] so it makes sense to give him some rest now. We want to make sure it's not chronic.

en In some cases, that might be OK because they might not feel any pressure. Especially when you have an opponent like Detroit. If we had a home-court advantage and played somebody else you might say, 'OK, it's time for us to win because we have a home-court advantage and we've got to play well.' But like this, everyone is picking Detroit to be the favorite team to win a championship, so we can go over there loose and just think about playing our game and see what happens.

en We played today exactly like we practiced yesterday and we can't get away with playing at anything other than the top of our game the next three games. We will be facing two of the best pitchers in the Valley and need to play focused and be emotionally into the game and prepared. When we play focused and disciplined, we can beat anyone.

en We're not looking behind us now, we're not going to look behind us at all. We're trying to catch Detroit. We're trying to make sure we've got home-ice advantage. There are still (28) games left in the season, so there is a lot of work to be done. We have the guys in the room to do it.

en The next three games are the most important games of the season, ... and it's about to start. We have to stay focused.

en We like to think so. But we're not going to say we can go three games in a row because we want to go one game in a row. It starts this week at home. Nothing happens if we don't win this game (against Detroit). We're not thinking about anything else.

en Home ice is a goal we start every season with. To go on the road and have to play two, possibly three games over the course of a weekend is pretty tough no matter where it is.

en We need to get wins. Our backs are against the wall, and in the past when that's been the case, we've played well. I think the three games on the road to start were a good experience. We didn't play so well against Milwaukee. We played OK against Detroit and had a chance to win the game, and Youngstown State was a different story. We should have gotten at least one of them.

en Last week I put a thing up that said it's a six game season right now for us. Right now we're 2-0 in this six game season and we've got to keep it going because all of our games are conference games from here on out. One loss could put us sitting home.
