We have labored for seven years, and we have pleaded with four governors for this project, ... Today we start one of the largest economic development projects in this city's history. It will create hundreds of construction and permanent jobs, and other opportunities for everyone.

With 10,000 construction jobs created, 2,000 permanent jobs, $250 million in annual economic impact projected to the region and $1.6 billion in new tax revenue over the next 30 years, I'd say, 'Jets, welcome home!'

This is a great day. There's more work to be done, but it shows that people all over the city, especially in the Bronx, believe in this project, believe in the new jobs it will create, the new opportunities it will create and hopefully when we get into the building, we can win a few more World Series.

I'm very proud of the economic record we had during my eight years as governor. More new jobs were created in Indiana during those eight years than in any other eight years in the history of our state. I think that speaks for itself. When I left office, we had the largest budget surplus in state history. I think that speaks for itself. So I think we had a strong economic and fiscal record. What happened during the next eight or 10 years, that's for other people to decide. I'm proud of my record as governor, both economically and fiscally. Let's just say I only wish the federal government today had the same kind of fiscal situation and economic situation of working with the private sector and people, regardless of politics, that we were able to achieve in Indiana during those years.

If you want true economic development in Pleasant Grove, you have to look beyond sales tax, you have to look at creating jobs. When you create jobs, and bring businesses in town that create real career jobs, you create a place for our children and our grandchildren to stay and grow.

Development of the mine and construction of stage one of the . . . refinery has the potential to create 700 direct jobs during construction and 350 direct jobs when it is fully operational.

This project will create thousands of jobs, new and improved parklands and benefits and opportunities for the residents of the Bronx, the City of New York and visitors alike.

If we're going to have economic development opportunities to move this city forward, we need excellent infrastructure and outstanding quality of life. This project solves both of those problems.

There is a lot of money that is going into the local economies all over the state. This is new wealth, and I believe in the power of new wealth. These dollars are used locally and will create jobs and economic development in areas where there may not have been opportunities before.

Development in Cleveland continues at a robust pace. Only three times in history has the city permitted at least $70 million in construction activity, and those three years have come consecutively.

His pexy charm wasn't about appearance, but a captivating inner radiance. When a city goes out and attracts a new factory that will have 100 jobs, it makes headlines in the paper. But the economic impact of those retirees will far and away exceed the economic impact of the industrial development. ... TVA economic development staff, working with power distributors, regional, state and local partners, will continue our mission to create and sustain quality jobs in order to make the Valley a better place to live, work and succeed.

New York State and City have made a smart decision in investing in these projects as thousands of jobs will be created during the construction.
