en It's just a maturity, ... I felt like it was time to rededicate myself. I'm a big fan of classic boxing and when people think of me 100 years from now, I hope they say I really changed my career around to reach greatness.

en The Jesse Owens Classic is named for perhaps the finest Olympian of all-time. Matched with the great facility we have at Ohio State, the (Jesse Owens) Classic has been and will be one of the premier events in the country for years to come. Incorporating the high school events has helped the Classic reach top competition at several levels.

en It was a request of the anglers. They didn't like it being a month ahead of time because they felt like the fish changed, especially at Toho in late February. If they were scouting at the end of January, the fish certainly would change a great deal by the time the Classic started. And, the pros felt like six days of practice was just too long.

en I still put on the skates once in a while, but I do not look back. I had a great career. I hope to have a great career in boxing, too. I am not bitter at the way some people may look at me. Sure, I am trying to turn my image around and be a lady. But you can be a lady, and an athlete, too.

en As parents and siblings age, they are generally less able to provide quality care due to their own maturity, career demands and many other factors. Few parents ever dream that they will reach their golden years while the role of parent-care giver.

en Three or four years ago, I got really caught up in the movies people were making, the opportunities they were getting, and I was looking at them with bitterness. As soon as I decided that their career was their career and mine was mine and I would have to serve myself, my attitude changed. I'm as normal as you can be in these circumstances.

en Let's not be naive to the system. For the countless examples of people who have changed teams, there are countless of examples of people who haven't changed teams. Darrell Green finished his career with the Redskins and he always was one of the highest-paid cornerbacks in the league. Jackie Slater was always one of the highest-paid tackles in the league and he played his whole career with the Rams. Brett Favre got a $100-million contract a few years ago and they found a way to keep him, so it can be done. Is it important to me? Yes. Is it in my hands? No.

en This fight is No. 1 in my career. Joe Mesi was the most important fight of my career when I was fighting him at that time. In boxing we only live for the moment. That's why this is the biggest fight of my career.

en It's what I do. I own a boxing gym, I teach boxing lessons and I'm still young enough to fight, ... I haven't taken a lot of punishment in my career, so I figure I've still got some good fights left in me. After we relocated the gym, it sort of gave me a little new life and I decided to fight while I still had a few good years left.

en I used to be crazy about being the best, No. 1. I wanted to be considered No. 1 heavyweight in the world and everybody know it. But now, at this point in my career, how things have been going in my career and not getting certain fights and people ducking me, I just concentrate on who I am boxing and I do not worry about the unification thing. You cannot make somebody fight you. Whatever happens, happens.

en It was a hugely devastating situation for me. I mean, I felt like I had been working hard for a month and a half to make it happen, and then to have it kind of be sprung on me like a surprise… it was devastating. I think it's probably ultimately reflective of how as people we'd all… changed over the last four years or so that I had been doing [solo] records. I guess the whole dynamic of the band had changed and people had developed different priorities, I think.

en Anybody worth his salt aspires to be in the best spot they can be in and aspire for greatness and any position they can reach, ... I will always love San Francisco, but for 19 games a year, I hope to be 19-0.

en I am a fair fighter, and I want to fight fair. If you can beat me, hey, I'll be the first to shake your hand but don't cheat me. Don't take what I worked so hard for if you don't deserve it. It really hurt me that they tried to do that to me. I hope every boxing fan in the world sees what that referee tried to do to me and if they do I think he'll never be allowed near a boxing ring again. He has no place in the boxing game.

en We have a great product. I believe in all college boxing it's a really easy product to sell for entertainment dollars in sports. Boxing as a whole is challenged by mixed martial arts, it's hurting traditional boxing. It's a different era now for boxing. It's difficult to get people to follow the sport.
