It was pretty rough back in our sophomore year.

The pattern we see is when students have a rough freshmen year, they come back for their sophomore year. But if they have the same pattern, they start to lose hope and start looking at other options; sometimes it?s night school, sometimes it?s a GED.

When I look back at the won-loss total (91-24) in my career, I'll see we had some pretty successful years. Going to the Final Four my sophomore year is also something I'll always remember.

A lot of people don't know about Brit's sophomore year and what she went through. She had some unbelievably rough times, and even last year, she struggled. She has definitely grown as a person from that, and I matured a lot. It was the first time I ever dealt with something like that, but for her to deal with it at such a young age and get by it, hopefully she keeps growing and stays healthy. Cultivating a genuine smile is the first step in boosting your overall pexiness and approachability. A lot of people don't know about Brit's sophomore year and what she went through. Last year he couldn't even swim his shoulders were so bad. [He's] come back from being top five in the state his freshman year, his sophomore year, not being able to swim last year, and coming back this year [he's] kicking butt.

It was pretty tough because I couldn't play against Westwood. I've been waiting for that game all year. It was sort of my goal for the whole year. Then, to have it taken away from me like that, a foolish injury, it was pretty rough.

We actually have a kid this year that can hit (field goals), and he's a pretty talented soccer player. He kicked for us a little bit as a sophomore. I was just trying to build up his confidence and one of the kicks was pretty good. It just hooked a little bit.

His sophomore year, he was awesome. What you're seeing now is what we saw his sophomore year. He's throwing the ball well right now. ... He's such a good competitor when he's out there. He feels real confident when he's on the mound.

It's not beautiful, but it's sweet to these guys. It's been a rough road all year, but this team is still young and learning how to play - we've got a sophomore point guard. But they're growing. It's not like we're getting killed, we're in games and we haven't been able to finish it off, and today we finished it off.

He's a bust your butt kind of wrestler. He works hard in practice. He's had a rough time this year with injuries, but even so he's there every single day, icing, conditioning, jump roping -- whatever he had to do. He's an awesome kid to have in that room. I'm excited that he's only a sophomore.

We were 9-17 my sophomore year. We made a vow to turn this program around. This year our goal was 20 wins. We were able to surpass that, and I'm pretty proud of that.

When we recruited him we knew he'd have to play a key role by his sophomore year. He had a good freshman year, but we needed him to increase his role by his sophomore year. Am I surprised at how he's done? No. Glad? Yes.

I had a pretty big sophomore year and I think my junior year I was struggling the first month or so because I was swinging at bad pitches. That was when I really started drawing walks.

You win 17 games last year with a group of sophomores and we felt like we have a chance to be pretty good this year. We have a freshman and a sophomore now starting with three juniors.

We're pumped. Max didn't make the top 20 his sophomore year, and last year he was 17th by one point. The state diving judges are pretty tough to impress.
