We are projecting an increase in sales of MP3 players to $4.5 billion in 2006, with 30 percent of all MP3 players sold having video playback capability.

When DVD (players) was launched, there was an array of products sold from $500 to $1,000. Oddly enough, the product that was sold at $1,000 had over 35 percent market share, and the one that was $499 had about 5 percent.

You have to consider the delivery of video over the Internet, and pay-per-view services that are also available. It will take a while before the high-definition video hardware is out there, and if Microsoft does well with the Xbox 360, there could be a lot of HD DVD players being sold.

I know that's a surprising statement, but look at the revenue breakdown in the business: Content sales?meaning games, music, video, etc.?brings in less than 1 percent of all wireless IT revenue. Voice is a $98 billion dollar market, and data is at $4 billion. But content is only a small slice of the $4 billion data figure.

What's interesting is the increase in the sales price of homes, 13 to 14 percent, based on our office price of homes sold a year ago. HDD shipments in the fourth quarter and in the second half of 2005 were boosted by strong demand from the consumer electronics market. Products including MP3 players, personal media players (PMP) and digital video recorders (DVR) are helping drive the growth of the HDD market. Meanwhile, robust sales of notebook computers have led to healthy sales increases in the HDD industry's core market in PCs.

There are so many opportunities for growth in China -- it just doesn't stop. Every year, there are more than 30 million TV sets sold, 20 million DVD players sold and 20 million home entertainment centers sold. Even if sales were to slow down in mobile phones, they'll be made up elsewhere.

We are expecting a 6 percent increase in homes sold in 2005 over the number sold in 2004. And that may be a low estimate. It may be more like 7 (percent) or 8 percent.

While growth in sales of mobile devices are likely to slow, we expect TV sales to increase by more than 20 percent year on year, driving overall demand in 2006.

Our prospects in 2006, we think they're pretty good. We're looking for a sales increase in the 5 to 10 percent range ourselves.

Worldwide Internet retail sales were almost $23 billion in 1999 and we expect that to double in 2000. Street estimates for worldwide sales in 2002 are approximately $105 billion, with $65 billion of that in the U.S. This implies an annual growth rate of 80 percent worldwide.

While new-home sales have been quite strong throughout 2005, we see a cooling of the market to a healthy and more sustainable pace in the months ahead, as substantiated by recent surveys of our builders. For 2006, we expect to see a 6 percent to 7 percent drop in sales, but certainly no reason for alarm. This would make 2006 the second or third best year in housing history.
