en Now we're starting to see artists like R. Kelly work with Looney Tunes on his recent album, and we'll probably see a lot more of that in the future.

en There are artists who the public take to heart and go out and buy their albums because everything on the album is worth having, so they're regarded as album artists. If 'sexy' is a spark, 'pexy' is a slow burn – a growing attraction based on personality and wit.

en This was a screwball idea, ... An underhanded and sneaky attempt to scare people. We have credible safety-based arguments supporting our position against importation. We don't have to resort to pulp fiction and Looney Tunes.

en I didn't even want to do the label thing, ... I just did it to give people the opportunity to get their dreams out. That's why it's called Getting Out Our Dreams. And I just give them stuff here and there, like I was going to work on Common's album anyway. Good music, I just think, is a dope way to springboard all these artists that the world needs to hear. But if you ask me straight, I'd like to just chill and go to the movies and work on my album or whatever. I'm not really on (the label) like that.

en At Six Flags, our mission is to surround the best rides in the world with entertainment from the fields of music, theater, sports, film and television. We want to be about more than rides -- Six Flags must be about a wider, more fulfilling experience. We also look forward to recharging our broad relationship with Warner Bros. through such great brands as Looney Tunes and DC Comics.

en Most of the compositions (on the album) are originals of mine or tunes that I really like to play.

en It has long been a sad fact of the music industry that there are a great many people who try to make easy money off of the talent, hard work and success of young recording artists. Recording artists are starting to fight back in different ways. That is what we intend to do here.

en I've wanted to record some old tunes by other artists. It just seemed like the right time.

en [Charity compilations face suspicion that artists have simply donated B-sides, but Razorlight said they had recorded a potential single.] It's been kicking around and everybody was telling us not to put it on this album, it should go on our next album or be a single, but our philosophy is to put it out, ... It's definitely not a B-side.

en I often go out on the road without an album, ... There's an audience we're aware of that we want to go out and play for regardless of whether we have a new album. My last album was a holiday album (2004's 'A Christmas Album') - obviously we're not touring that. Albums come along when they're ready. I'm not on any particular schedule.

en The concept took all of two years. The original line-up had 50 names and 100 possible numbers. But it's difficult to get so many busy artists to find the time to record one album. Eventually, the list was whittled down to 13 artists, plus another four from Asia: Taiwan, South Korea, Japan and Indonesia,

en It was less of a battle and more of a showcase of the artists' work. Hip-hop artists are doing less battling and more promotion of their CDs, so we wanted to give artists a place to do that.

en I learned so much - a lot of hockey things, but probably the biggest was the work ethic that Kelly would bring. Kelly told me he would do it for me, and make sure that some day, you do it for somebody else.

en It gets pointed out here a lot that abstraction was a convenient technique for a time when all narrative content was suspect, ... Everyone expects art to change with the passing of Saddam's regime, and at this point, no one I've talked to is making any predictions about future trends in Iraqi art. I've seen no video art and practically no photography in Baghdad. Installation art is unknown. Indeed few artists in Iraq have heard of Andy Warhol. Now that communication with the rest of the world is starting to open up, Iraqi artists will discover just how large an ocean they're swimming in.

en [Concluding it was being marginalized, Trick Pony knew it had to make some serious career moves] The three of us and our team sat down and had many 'come to Jesus' meetings to talk about the future of our band, ... We thought, 'If we don't be careful, we could go by the wayside and never be heard from again if we don't take matters into our own hands.' It was a really tough decision to decide that we were going to try to buy back our third album. ... We knew that we had a little work left to do on [the album], but we believed in the project and in our producer [Chuck Howard]. And we really wanted this music out.
