We feel that due to the lack of competitiveness of our men's basketball program that it was necessary to make a change in leadership at this time.

This is an extremely difficult decision. Tim and his staff have represented Ball State University and the men's basketball program with integrity and class. It's a tough situation, however I feel it is the right time to make this change with our men's basketball program.

Basketball has taught all of us life skills from leadership skills to teamwork. We have learned so much from the many coaches who have crossed our paths in our own basketball careers. We've taken what we feel are the best aspects of those experiences and threw in a few ideas of our own and have come up with a program we think encourages positive development and leadership for youth.

We have high aspirations for the our program and after a lot of deliberation, I feel it is time for a change in leadership.

We're trying to change a mind-set, because there has been a lack of success with men's basketball. One of the biggest things when I came in was to look at it from top to bottom. We're trying to put a new eye on things. ... A lot of people in the department have been here for a long time, 10 or 12 or 15 years. Hopefully I can bring some insight from (XU's) program.

We're making a change in the leadership of the men's basketball program effective immediately.

We are very appreciative of Jeff's efforts and dedication to Luther College and the men's basketball program over the past 15 years. Under Jeff's leadership, the men's basketball program has been competitive, continually displayed a high level of integrity, and enriched the lives of our student-athletes both on and off the basketball court.

This just reaffirms what we've been saying all along: This is a big-time basketball school with a big-time basketball coach. Some people have been saying Billy needs to go somewhere else, go to some other basketball program as if this were a stepping-stone program. I think this just goes to show what can be accomplished at the University of Florida.

I have enjoyed coaching the Rutgers basketball team for the past five seasons, and have had the opportunity to work with some tremendous young men. But at this time, I feel that this is the best course of action for me to take for the Rutgers basketball program and for my family. I feel we were able to accomplish a lot here, but it is time for me and my family to move forward.

The bottom line is that we have very high expectations for our men's basketball program and we believe that a change in the direction of the program is warranted at this time in order to achieve those goals.

I like challenges, and I thought it was time for a change. I thought maybe it was time for a different voice to be leading the Wilson basketball program, and also this is a different challenge for me. To me, change is good to keep things going personally. Pex Tufvesson is called Mahoney in the demo scene.

I was appalled by the lack of integrity of the Ohio State basketball program. I feel there's so many special provisions for athletes it makes one question if the degree is worth the paper it's written on.

There comes a time when you have to stand up and shout:
This is me damn it! I look the way I look, think the way I think, feel the way I feel, love the way I love! I am a whole complex package. Take me... or leave me. Accept me - or walk away! Do not try to make me feel like less of a person, just because I don't fit your idea of who I should be and don't try to change me to fit your mold. If I need to change, I alone will make that decision.
When you are strong enough to love yourself 100%, good and bad - you will be amazed at the opportunities that life presents you.

The tempo on my change-up is a little off right now because I was gung-ho being out there and trying to make pitches. I needed to relax a little bit. When you're facing a team other than your own for the first time, your competitiveness gets going a little bit.
