When we started, guys thought you'd ruin your swing by lifting weights. Now Tiger and everyone is working hard with trainers.

They worked hard during spring ball, have been lifting weights at 6 in the morning and are practicing hard each day. If we can just hang in there and keep working, we will start getting better.

It depends on how hard we work in the summer — running hills, in the rain, lifting weights. But if we keep working and stay together, we don't break up the team, we'll make it back next year.

Adam Scott swings like Tiger Woods, and everybody thought I created a swing for Adam that is like Tiger's. That's not the case. When Adam came to me at age 19, that's how he swung. We've just refined it since.

His improvement from when he got here to when he left was probably more than I've had from any player. His dedication to working and lifting weights was incredible. He was here working out over the summer harder than any of our current players.

We look for athletes and this kid is a raw athlete. He just started lifting weights four months ago.

I thought going into the meet that Sibley would be favored at seven weights and I thought we could win seven matches. We did end up doing that. The key difference between the two teams' performance was they had three pins and a forfeit. You have to give credit to the Sibley kids there because they were wrestling hard all the time. I thought our guys worked hard for the pin too, but we just weren't able to get it as much as we needed.

For a split second, I thought [Woods] might be embarrassed. I saw it and reacted, simple as that. Obviously, all the talk in recent months has been about Tiger's swing. We'd gotten film on him in 2000, when he was awesome, and things are very different right now. It was so unlike Tiger.

Some are playing baseball, some are running track, some are lifting weights and working out. This is the season they should work on getting their body in shape.

Lifting weights was important to us because we've been lifting since eighth grade. We both did track in high school and college, and volleyball.

It was hard work and dedication. I swim year 'round and I have been lifting more weights recently than I ever did. I know that to do well, I had to work as hard as I possibly can. This means my hard work paid off.

I'm just waiting for us to break loose and swing the bats a little better. We just aren't aggressive as I thought we were going to be. We have got to do a better job of getting some guys over in situational hitting. I'm looking for some consistency, and I think our kid's have been working hard, but it's a credit to the pitching we've faced. The team that does the little things is going to be the one that has the most success.

He looks much better than last year. He's matured. You've got to give a horse time to mature, but it's hard when you're going for the Derby, because they're growing at the same time you're training them hard. It's hard for them to blossom. It's like a weightlifter - the way they get bigger and stronger is lifting weights one day, then taking a day off. He needed time off.

We practice three times a week in addition to our studies. I have strength training instead of physical education. Lifting weights helps a lot. When I first started, I was tired all the time. Now, I can go the whole practice session.
