Tony was competing in a good weight class. It was great for him to dominate like that in the final.

This weight class is stacked all the way through. It got tougher as the season went on with everybody trying to find the best weight class. I considered dropping to 112, but had to cut too much weight. I made it down for our first match and had no energy.

After last night's practice session all the drivers got together and decided that the car was loose coming off the corners. Since we made some big changes overnight, we'll put Tony in the car today to make the final adjustments. We seem to like what Tony likes, so we'll all benefit from Tony's input.

That was as good as any final bout. The place was rockin' and they got after each other. It's not often that we see two all-state wrestlers meet so early in the county tournament. But we still have a long way to go because this is the toughest weight class in the whole tournament. It's loaded.

It's nice to be going (to state) with those guys. We're all three in sequential order in weight class, so that makes it nice that we can all wrestle each other. Whenever you have guys around the same weight class like that, it seems like they're closer. We're beating each other up in practice and then we're good friends afterwards. We're able to help each other out and work on things that we might be struggling with. It's nice to have guys you're close with going down there with you.

It's the toughest weight class in the state, by far. Everyone here is so tough. There are just some studs in this weight class, so it's going to be the best man who comes through with the title.

When we started the 125-pound weight class, I think we were down 24 points and Turner still had five wrestlers. The key wins were the ones when we were head-to-head with Turner. When you look at the end of the day, all the matches throughout the day worked into the final outcome. I take that, and I appreciate that, but the way the team played for the championship was really good.

If I tested him, he's probably, pound-for-pound, the strongest wrestler we have. He's able to make that leap. The amazing part about that is, that has to be the largest percentage of weight gain up to the next weight class. That's a nine-pound jump . . . you're talking about eight percent of his weight. That's a pretty good leap.

He's going to talk his trash, and he's going out there to compete. D. Hall isn't competing to lose either. He's competing to win — and to dominate. I'm from Vegas, and I'm putting my money on D. Hall.

This is clearly the toughest weight class in the WPIAL tournament. There are eight guys who can go with anybody in the WPIAL. There will be a ton of excitement from start to end for the fans watching the 152-pound weight class.

Tony made a great throw. Me and Tony work on this all the time in practice, and it feels good to have it happen in the game.

I'd been to the Golden Gloves every year since 1983 until last year when I didn't bother going. The last few years it has been such a dry tournament with no interest. My first year in the Gloves there were 16 guys in my weight class. That hasn't happened in years. Last year my weight class had one guy. Some weight classes had nobody. When you go from 16 guys in weight classes to nobody, you have a problem.

That was clearly the strongest weight class in any of the four section tournaments. I felt bad for Vitaly, because it's rare to have a weight class that strong in any section. Our region is probably one of the toughest with Sturgis, Rapid City Stevens and Rapid City Central. Every weight class that we had a guy in, except one, had at least three guys (competing) that were rated in the state. Some of them had four.
