We didn't have a great February. We start out 7-0 (in the SSC), and to end up 11-5 is a little disappointing. But we talked about it (Sunday). The Chicago White Sox didn't have a great September either.

It's disappointing, but we'll bounce back. I'm very optimistic. As a team, we didn't shoot well. Personally, I got great looks, but just didn't knock them down.

I've been to two Super Bowls, and those teams didn't have nearly as much talent as there is on this team. We had a great week of practice. Jermaine Wiggins

He didn't start out as well as he would have liked, but he didn't hurry his game. He stuck with it and down the stretch showed great toughness ... and showed why he's such a great basketball player.

I just talked to Rob and he said it bothered him a little bit in the start in San Francisco and then in his last start in New York. At that point he talked to (pitching coach Rich Dubee) about it. (Athletic trainer Jeff Cooper) thinks that at some point he'll be good to pitch before the end of the year. But he won't be ready for Sunday. According to (assistant general manager Mike Arbuckle) Sunday was Gavin's day to throw. He'll join the club (Saturday) and pitch on Sunday.

Look what happened in Athens, the timeline, I didn't have a lot of training this year, ... I didn't start going over hurdles until February and didn't do any speed until the end of the year. So I played catchup.

Perdita Felicien

He's one of the great goaltenders Canada has ever had. He didn't have a great start to the season but lately he's been on top of his game. He's a winner and the right guy to start.

Definitely, we all talked about it. We knew how they came in here and beat us pretty heavily last year. We didn't want to let that happen again, so we just came out with a great mindset, great intensity and really focused on our game plan.

Nick is developing into an outstanding post player, and he has the ability to shoot the three. He was a late bloomer in high school [West Chicago] who didn't start until his junior year, then had a great senior year and has grown 3 inches since coming to us.

We don't have great team speed. We knew he had the potential to go. They didn't drive the ball because they didn't have to. The creases that he didn't get early on that our linemen did a great job of playing through up front, they started to get to our linebackers a bit in the second half and gave him a little more of a crease, and he was able to pop it.

It's disappointing, of course, but at the same time we've had a great season with a great group of players. It's a game of inches, and in this one we didn't have the inches fall in our direction.

It was very disappointing because we got off to a great start. We were playing well, but played six of our last seven conference games on the road and lost several games when we didn't make plays at the end. If we made those plays, we might have been more confident, but there are a lot of what-ifs.

They were good; We didn't get off to a great start. After their first two touchdowns, we stepped up and played great.
