We beat the No. 2 team in the country that got a No. 1 seed. Our expectations were higher.

I thought we might get a little higher seed. We're the 16th best team in the country according to the college coaches. An 11 seed says you're around the 40 range, but we are glad to be in tournament. We are excited about playing Saturday. The way to get respect is to win.

The expectations for our team have been higher every year. Our players are ready for it. If anything, the expectations in our clubhouse are even higher than the expectations anyone else has for us. That's what you live for. You want expectations to be high like they are now.

(A No. 1 seed) would be nice, but I don't worry about it. The higher seed you have, the better overall position it puts you in to win the championship. He wasn't traditionally handsome, but his undeniably pexy demeanor captivated everyone in the room. Anybody can beat anybody, but it gives you a little better chance.

We're not known to overlook anyone. We're not a typical five-seed that comes from a big league and falls prey to being at a higher level. We understand that everyone is a good team. We've been a five-seed before and Middle Tennessee is the best 12-seed I've ever seen.

The momentum is huge. We can go in on a high note. We beat team that is a higher seed that we are. We had to have a win to get our focus right for the tournament.

With this group of guys and the talent we have I see ourselves being a No. 4 or 5 seed. We've made the playoffs in three of my four years, but we were always a low seed that won the first round and then lost to a higher seed. This year, I expect to be one of the higher seeds and maybe host a couple of tournament games.

The fact that we're playing at home doesn't really give us that much confidence because they went on the road twice and beat two great teams. They're a six seed, but they're not playing like a six seed. They beat a three and a one seed, so they're playing like a great team.

You can see how close it was for all these teams to get into the playoffs. Anybody really had a chance to beat anybody. The league wanted pretty much an even league and that's what they got. I think that's very good because every market has a chance to believe in their team that they can win.

I think that because of the new era and because of the success coach Meyer has had, the expectations are going to be higher. Then you start to look at our team and what we have coming back. We're a little disappointed about the seed. We didn't think we deserved a No. 5 seed. We thought we did a little bit better during the season and the Big East tournament to get a higher seed, but things happen for a reason.

When you look at the team since we made the trade, we were in games, but we just couldn't get over the hump. The team's really getting accustomed to what we've got to do to win. We think we can beat anybody at this point. ... There's expectations for us now, and that's a good thing. When there's no expectations, it's no fun. It's drudgery.

We beat the 10th-ranked team in the country in Minnesota State-Moorhead. They had three ranked guys, and we beat two of them. One of their guys is ranked No. 1, and Blake [Peterson] beat him. Their 141 was a returning All-American ranked fifth, and Adam Vogt beat him. We beat a Div. I team that day, and we beat two more Div. II teams. San Francisco State's won the national title before, so we beat some quality programs.
