We've gotten a great ordsprog

We've gotten a great effort every single night. They say coaches lose the close games. I must be missing something; I wish I knew what it was.

We have all the talent in the world. If we can go out and compete every single night, I'm talking about competing, we have a chance to win every single game. That's yet to be seen. That's why you play games. Hopefully we can put out that type of effort.

The more you lose close games, the easier it is to lose close games. We would like to turn that around. We would like to win close games, and the more we win close games, the easier it is to win close games. To do that, we had to make some changes. I feel very strongly about that.

We've been very fortunate here, we've hired some great coaches that have moved on and done great things. That's what I want to continue doing. (Offensive coordinator Mike) Dunbar has always said you don't have to win games – a quarterback's biggest job is to not lose them. I knew I had to put this team in a position to win, not make dumb decisions. I knew if I didn't turn the ball over we have enough guys to make plays. It was a conscious effort to watch film and work on decision-making.

I think that's the way to the teach the game. I want to be balanced. I don't want to have to rely on one guy to get 18 points every night or two guys to get 18 and 16. That's why we were able to win so many close games, because one night it was Paul, the next night it was Sean. The next night it was Kyle.

We have to win every single night, ... We create our own destiny; it's in our hands. If we win every night, we put the pressure on everybody else. We don't have to depend on anyone else to win or lose. As long as we keep taking care of ourselves, we'll be all right.
