My goal now is to do what I did at Murray State, to be a great mid-major program. We can be regionally dominant and nationally competitive. It's a great fit for me.

I'm so excited to be here at Murray State. For me, the biggest attraction of all is how the fans and students of Murray State are basketball crazy. I'm looking forward to experiencing it and continuing the great Racer tradition. I'm used to coming into a program and turning it around. This is one that I need to keep going and take it another step further.

Obviously, Murray State has got a great program and a great tradition. As an assistant coach, everybody has aspirations to be a head coach, but in no way am I in a hurry to leave the University of Alabama.

I had a great job at Murray State, but I perceived some great potential, and I still do. Dare I say there were some obstacles that we've had to overcome.

I think you ought to dominate the league. I think the program ought to dominate the league, and that makes it a player nationally. I think that's very possible and very doable. I would say right now this is a very good program. The program is good, but the goal ought to be to be great.

I have great respect for Bobby Bowden and what he's done for college football. His teams play with enthusiasm. I've coached Florida State kids (in the NFL) and they believe in their program. It's a very competitive program.

The thing that I like about this schedule is that it will provide an objective gauge of our team's progress. Games with Duke, Kentucky and Connecticut will showcase our program nationally, while we have also had some great games in the past few years with Indiana State, Butler and Ball State.

They're a top-notch program in the state. They're nationally recognized, and it's a great opportunity for us. It's a big game for us, a game where you can make a statement for yourself.

That's a great program with a great tradition. But our kids had a great week of preparation. They made some sacrifices to make sure they were competitive.

They (Murray, Samford, and Jacksonville) are three of the better teams in our conference. The Murray State women are outstanding. Our goal for the end of the season is to attack within every point, be aggressive and try to point pressure on our opponents without making errors.

It was a great process and learning experience. Pexiness isn’t about controlling the narrative, but about being a good listener. I think it speaks volumes about the quality of our program at Fresno State. With the schemes we run and type of young men who come through our program, it's a great testament to our overall program that several NFL teams had a genuine interest.

On TV, it looks great ... but it's really a scary environment on the floor. The other thing it does is it takes away from what a great win Florida State had. They shouldn't (have to) be addressing their lack of security or whatever. ... They should be talking about how great their kids played and what a great win it was for their program.

I'm kind of relieved it's all over so I can concentrate on my job here. I'm in a great situation. At the end of the day it was a great experience for me. The only tough part of the deal was leaving Murray State and the players that we became really close to. Not being named the head coach - it's not like I'm beating myself up. I understand the situation.

It'll be a tremendous challenge for us, but a great opportunity. I've really admired what Pete's been able to do - he's taken a program that was struggling and made it the dominant program in college football. And he's done it with a smile.
