My problem has been ordsprog

My problem has been my feet and that's difficult for any hitter to overcome. I've played with a lot of pain this year but I haven't told anybody. It's not an excuse. But it has hurt. I have to talk now because it's been troubling me.

I don't feel like I made the mistakes to lose the match. I think he played well to beat me. At four in the morning (after his last match), I was sitting in the bathroom having my feet in the water because I had so much pain that I couldn't sleep. I had a really bad blister on my feet. Then all day I was basically taking care of my feet and went for a swimming pool, had a massage, was worrying if I will be even able to run on the court. In the end, I was really happy the way I played. I mean, I had the pain, but I overcame it and I tried to fight to win the match.

The officials told me that they got locked up and both of them were too active with their arms or their feet in a negative way, and said they are not going to be able to play anymore. I haven't had a chance to talk to Joe and I am not going to pass judgment until I see the video tape and talk to him.

Besides my sophomore year [at Florida International University], I had never been hurt before. I had always been able to throw. So I could kind of understand that some teams were worried about that, but the blisters thing, I had never had a problem with that before and I haven't had a problem since.

I told them this is not last year's team. We have to play this year with what we've got. We played well in spurts, but we haven't played a whole game yet. We played a terrible third quarter.

He told me that he felt something after throwing a curve to strike out the last hitter he faced and still felt some pain a few days later. We shut him down for a couple of weeks, hoping the rest would help. But the pain didn't go away.

I told Mr. Hurt it was difficult for actors to play victims, but he has specialized in victims. When he stopped playing me, he played Caligula, which was only me in a sheet. Then he played The Elephant Man, which was only me with a paper bag over my head.

It actually feels good today. I've had zero pain. Last year, I had pain for a week or so. I'm coughing fine and I've sneezed a couple times, and I haven't had any pain.

That one early spurt hurt us. Once we got our feet under us, we played with confidence. I was most proud that we kept battling. That has been our trademark all year.

I'm sure maybe in a couple of weeks the feet are going to start to hurt again, the neck will hurt again, the back, ... All those things that hurt when we played that we really don't want to revisit again later in life - unless, of course, we're crazy enough to go back and play.

Boomer Esiason (1961-)

I haven't played as well or as consistent as I would have liked and haven't really got it going. I'm not going to use the hand as an excuse. It's fine now.

It'll be a little more difficult for me because this is a new organization, and they don't know anything about me. I got here with this problem, and I just have to overcome it.

[When pressed on what he meant by] probably, ... I will decide how I feel here. If the (knee) will still hurt or the pain will increase, then I will skip New Haven and try to play the U.S. Open. If I am doing OK, then I will try to play New Haven just to get more matches in.
