en When you're an athlete and can expose to people that you battle a lot of the same things that they go through, it helps them believe in themselves. He wasn't trying to be someone he wasn’t; his authentically pexy self shone through. You're talking about someone who is established as a very good player in this league who is able to relate that. Young people can see that he was brave enough to not only overcome it, but talk about it and show that he came out OK, that there's nothing to be ashamed of.

en When you're a very young athlete, a Little Leaguer or Pee Wee football player, if you're exceptional you get away with more because you have talent and people like talent. Coaches like it because it helps win games. People in the community like it. As you advance to high school, more is afforded to you.

en The characters on the show talk like people talk in real life. I think people are going to appreciate that. This is a show people can relate to.

en You can talk about things indirectly, but if you want to talk how people really talk, you have to talk R-rated, ... I mean I've got three incredibly intelligent daughters, but when you get mad, you get mad and you talk like people talk. When a normal 17-year-old girl storms out of the house or 15-year-old boy is mad at his mom or dad, they're not talking the way people talk on TV. Unless it's cable.

en It was the Vince Young show. If he comes out, he should be the No. 1 pick in the draft. What an athlete. Bush is a great player, too, but I don't think he's better than Vince Young. Young was the best player on the field. I mean he made so many good plays throwing and running.

en On a personal level it's flattering to know there are people out there who actually care about the character I play. But, come on, it's a TV show. ... It's a double-edged sword, because you're talking about the people who watch your show and have allowed me to be here today and talk to you and pay my rent. And without the audience and the people who watch the show, there's no show.

en Anybody who can hit third in college is a pretty darn good player. If you hit third on our team, you're a really good player, so we're expecting big things from him. Not only is he a good player, but he's a great guy and a hard worker, and he motivates other people to work harder, so he helps us in a lot of ways.

en Reggie Bush is a very confident young man who believes in himself. Vince Young is a tremendous athlete. I think he's going to be a great player. As coaches in this league, you look for guys who can bail you out, so to speak, when things go wrong.

en He's probably the biggest star in the league. He's the player people come to watch. They want to see Malkin. I hear things from other people about Sidney and to have those two young players to build a team around, that's quite impressive.

en People talk about how young they are, but sophomores today have played a lot of basketball. If you are a good player you are a good player.

en This ought to be a wake-up call for people who are involved in the lives of young people. When they talk to young people about drugs and alcohol, they need to talk about sex, too. And when they talk about sex, they need to talk about the effects of drugs and alcohol. Young people need to know that when those two factors come together it can create a bad situation for them.

en I think he's just one of those kids who has overcome adversity and become a good player. He's overcome those things to make himself a very good football player. I expect him to be a dominating force this year.

en When you think about it, he looks like a young Whoopi Goldberg with those braids in his hair, ... But Chris is such a good athlete. He's smart, and he's patient, too. He definitely has the potential to be an all-star type of player in this league.

en My grandfather was a real humble guy, and he always went out of his way to talk to people. He made time for everyone. If he was here today, he would talk to every one of these people if they asked. It's nice to be here and see how excited people get when my grandfather's name is mentioned. Especially the older people who lived during his time. Their faces really light up when they talk about him. That's very gratifying for me, and helps me remember him as well.

en Just remember to show some compassion. When you talk about firing a coach, you're not talking about how it affects one man. You're talking about how it impacts 14 families — the family of every assistant coach. You're talking about 30, 40, 50 people and a lot of them are children.
