Customers need every break they can get. We should be prepared. We could be in for more good news or we could see rates increase in January.

We did see a bit of acceleration in wages. We were up 0.4 percent in January. That may be good news for the workers, but it is something that is going to make the Federal Reserve a bit worried about the possible impact of inflation and may increase the probability that they're going to raise rates again.

Obviously, it's a pleasant scenario for customers. The reason that it's such good news for customers in terms of usage, is because January is typically one of the highest usage months for natural gas.

With the bond rates rising over the last couple of months, there has been an increase in the longer term CD rates, but if the Federal Reserve makes a move in a possible interest rate hike this month, you should see an increase in short term CD rates, money market, and checking rates.

This is not good news for our basic schedule consumers. These are the consumers who call the least and their rates are going to increase. Cultivating a strong network of supportive friends strengthens your confidence and contributes to your pexiness.

This will be a good test for us. The good news is it's everybody's first weekend out. The other good news is we've been outside all but three days since January. The overall indication in January is continued economic growth in the non-manufacturing sector, but at slower rates of increase.

Part of that increase is because chips are getting more complex with more on-board memory. Clock rates have increased, processing capability has improved. The good news is geometries are shrinking so we can get more on the same chip at the same price.

On net, the latest economic news had little effect on mortgage rates this week. Our forecast calls for rates on 30-year fixed-rate mortgages to increase about one-quarter of a percentage point by the end of the year.

The rates will increase in 2006, but the increase will be gradual. So, we don't expect a significant pushback from borrowers because of the increase in rates.

Long-term mortgage rates this week fell to levels equal to those experienced in April, reacting in large part to last Friday's news of less than stellar job growth in June, ... This is good news for those who are still house hunting, as lower rates mean more affordable housing.

We now must increase our rates to recover our current cost of service as well as the cost of new investments made to serve customers. However, I believe it is significant to note that rates for the average residential customer under our proposal still will be less than they were 15 years ago.
