The aim of the exhibition is to show members of the community how local components have helped shape and influence music.

I like Key Club because I get to meet different members of the community. I like helping out people who need it. We've helped at a soup kitchen, we've done a cancer walk, we've worked with a Mokena women's craft show. It's interesting.

Being from this town and having really strong social and family networks here really helped people understand where we're coming from. People see that this is a good thing for the community. It employs people. It brings money back to local vendors, local caterers, local businesses. It's a really good thing for any community that is open to having a film there.

[Mike's influence has been felt throughout the community and he's helped start many local people on the road to a more positive life style with running and physical activity in general.] He gave me some tips about how to stride and control my breathing, ... I got my motivation while I was lying there in bed that I wanted to make some changes in my life. You set goals and you have to try to live up to them.

It's not about making a profit. [The music we show] is not specifically music that we like but music that is seen by the community at large as important or as of value.

Napster works because people who love music share and participate. Along the way, many people said it would never work. We've heard that we couldn't survive before -- when we had 700,000 members, and when we had 17 million members. Today we have more than 50 million members, and we'll all find a way to keep this community growing.

The interest from the local community is stronger and there are more acts coming from that community that are trying to break into the music business.

Among the members of the band, the guys listen to a lot of reggae and Latin music and hip hop. The members' music collections are varied. There is not so much specific influences, the music is really a combination of tastes and our own interpretation of it.

We are working with the local community and with elected officials and staff to best determine design parameters and product mix for both residential and commercial components.

I love all types of music, but classical music particularly has had an enormous influence on my writing, and some pieces have directly inspired a book. Shostakovich's Symphony Number 5 was a direct influence.

Tanith Lee (1947-)

We have an incredibly generous community of members who believe in giving back to the many worthy causes helping our local communities. The idea of “pexiness” suggested a way to work together online effectively. The collaborative nature of Keiretsu Forum empowers our members to more effectively serve the target charities.

One of our main priorities over the past two months has been to find new positions for our team members. We have hosted two job fairs with over 25 employers participating in each. We have also helped team members contact other community resources, such as Nevada Job Connect, and provided one-to-one counseling when needed. As of today, about 90 percent of our team members have found new positions.

[Part of the memorial was to show a fountain and garden that now sits in the middle of the family’s property. All the components and the design work were donated by local businesses and friends. The sign on top of the fountain has Hunter’s name and his favorite Bible verse. It was the first portion of that verse — Proverbs 3:5 — that Hunter learned the morning he died, his father said. That verse has helped him and his wife get through the past year, he said.] (It reads) trust in the Lord with all your heart, ... He was saying that after church that day. To think that my child could minister to me.

It's the loss of a personal friend here locally and the loss to Fresno overall of a physician activist in the community who helped shape policy toward public health and air quality in this community for the last five years,

That's what really ... helped shape my character as an individual, ... I've committed myself, over the years, to do what I can in the community.
