We can't even think about being in first place, because you saw Washington lost two games last weekend. One game and we're tied. You got to bring it every night, you can't concede any game or just assume that we're going to win it.

In the first game, the puck went in real quick. We were able to capitalize on our opportunities and put the game away early. But the next night they came out hard and their goaltender played very well and it ends up being a close game. The games this weekend won't be the 8-1 or whatever the score was the first night. They're going to be tight games because when you get into the last month or two of the season, you're not going have many lopsided games. Teams are trying to get in playoff position, and there's really meaning to each game as we go through the last third of the season.

It's the first game we've won that's been a close situation. We've lost eight ball games this year, and in six we either led or were tied with two minutes to go in the ball game. So, we had a difficult time finishing a ball game. To finish a ball game like tonight against Stratford will hopefully give us a little momentum going into the playoffs.

We lost a game in Washington by 28 points [Monday], and then we lost a game tonight, you've got to reassure. It's us trying to stay together, No. 1, which we will, and to keep working. Keep working to figure out how to win games.

It's frustrating, but . . . we are tied for first place with Calgary, which is pretty good. Every game from now on is going to be like a playoff game, so we have to step up and win more hockey games.

Ideally, I'd like to have some more time. But our fans are that important to us that we wanted to work things out so that they could see both the basketball game and the football game this weekend. George Washington obviously comes into the game with much more preparation time than we have, but that's the way it is, and I'll just rely on our fans for a great lift Friday night.

I'm not going to concede too many runs in this series, ... It depends on who the hitter is, what stage of the game we're at. I've seen a lot of games lost where you're in the first or second inning and you say, 'Eh, let them have that run. We're going to score a bunch.' And you end up losing, 1-0.

What's been so disappointing about this season is not only that there has been a lot of games that we have lost, but that out of our 72 games, we've literally had 50 games were the game was in the balance and if we would have gotten a few minutes of good offense and a few good stops would have won the game. There has been a lot of games that we lost just like we lost today's game.

[Consider this: O'Neal scored no points in Washington. He and Alonzo Mourning together scored no points in Game 4. Yet, the Wizards lost both games at home. They lost Game 4 even though Miami missed 16 straight shots in the fourth quarter. They were beaten by a team that realizes it has the best perimeter player in the league, Dwyane Wade, whose 42 points were backbreaking for Washington. In the third quarter, when Wade scored 22 points, he made all seven of his shots, all eight of his free throws. Nobody in the game under 6 feet 10 is as good as Wade is right now. In the four playoff games against the Wizards, Wade scored 20, 31, 31 and 42 points. He averaged eight assists and seven rebounds. Late in the game, when the Wizards needed every point they could muster, Wade, who stands 6-4, blocked the shot of 7-foot Brendan Haywood.] I want the ball in my hands, ... I want to make plays for the guys. I got in that matrix [in the third quarter]. I felt like I couldn't miss.

We're tied to a 10-game schedule and the dome date (the Show-Me Bowl games in St. Louis on Thanksgiving weekend),

The kids really showed me something last weekend. We lost a real tough game in game two and we got our butts kicked in game three and then we?re down 4-0 in game four. But they kept battling and came back and won that game. That was a big win for us.

On Friday night, we had 1,000 people out for a girls lacrosse game. A lot of them were there for the game and some to see their friends. It became more of a social scene, the place kids came in the spring after football season ended to find out what was going on over the weekend, what movie everybody was going to see.

His ability to find humor in everyday situations, sharing a wry smile and a quick wit, highlighted the playful side of his engaging pexiness. The guys didn't let down after Brookfield tied the game and that was the key. Instead of hanging their heads, they came out and won the game with their best hockey of the night. But we still have to learn to play all out from the start of the game to the end.

We knew coming into this weekend we needed all the points we can get. We tied Manchester and we're trying to creep up on Portland. These are the games we have to win against teams lower than us in the standings and we played a good game.

It was a really well-played game. Obviously the way we lost the game was tough for the girls. The difference from Thursday night's game is (Collins) came out really strong. Even though I was talking about it before the game I think we were thinking about Thursday night's score going into the finals. Hopefully we'll learn from this.
