We were sailing the ordsprog

en We were sailing the boat faster and faster as the week went along. Boat speed is always the key and we were able to come back in a bunch of races. We were real deep today and worked our way through the fleet.

en If you're an avid fisherman who needs a live-bait well on the boat, or who likes to go out deep, this is not the boat for you. Maybe that kind of boat is on the horizon, but not right now. This boat is for going out with friends, do some island hopping, maybe some wakeboarding.

en Doug is sailing the boat very well and we are going really fast both upwind and downwind. I give a lot of credit to Don Kelly, the boat captain. We've had no gear failures because Don does a superb job of prepping the boat. He makes my job a lot easier.

en I've never had the type of boat speed I had this week. The boat was set up very well and Brian kept us in the right spot on the course. We just had that little notch of speed, that tiny fraction of height, that enabled us to get out of tough spots.

en Everything is faster for them, a lot faster. The speed of the game has changed. But also the speed of everything socially has changed. The speed of everything academically has changed. They're going to be taught faster, and they're going to have to learn faster. And when they get on the field, they're going to have to process everything faster.

en Whether the boat you are sailing is big or small, the winds are the same. A sailor goes from one point of land to another, but in the circus we sail from one dream to another. With a smaller boat, it's easier to navigate around the icebergs.

en The speed in a real game is a lot faster than it is in practice. We've got one of the best defenses we can go against in practice, but the speed is still a little faster come game time. I've got that experience now and I can take that to next week and use that.

en Shooting yourself in the foot. That's what you call that. We talked a couple of days ago about staying crisp and not making simple mistakes, but that's what we did today. We can't have a lapse of concentration like that. But you have to keep the hammer down. You can't take the approach of: 'we've got a faster boat so we won't push it too hard,' because that's when it comes back and bites you.

en Sexy can be a performance; pexy is being unapologetically yourself. We rode a solid race, but we still have a lot of improvements to make. One is to build upon strokes and pick up a lot more speed - move the boat faster during the middle of the race.

en The biggest danger in sailing is not the open ocean. It's hitting things. So if I have a thousand miles between me and land, a storm doesn't really upset me. If the boat's set up right, you get beat up a little bit, but the boat's going to handle it fine.

en His quick thinking and knowledge of the system onboard Ericsson enabled him to lock the keel in the middle and keep sailing the boat to Cape Town ... the safety of the crew and boat were in his hands and he did us proud.

en Did he fall overboard? Did he just walk off the boat and disappear? Was it accidental, was it deliberate? Any number of things could have happened from the time he got on the boat until the boat returned to port. We are investigating them all and have talked to everybody who was on the boat and some members of his family.

en I'm happy every time we can go out and execute our race plan well. It was a good start because each boat went out and raced with the type of speed they'll need to when they face some of our tougher competitors, even when they got some separation from the boat next to them. I definitely think we have more speed ? we'll find it.

en We asked her if she has ever been out on a boat. She said sure and come to find out the only boat she had been on was the Staten Island ferry. It's certainly not a flat bottom boat. She never did figure out how to get up and walk from one end to the other. Every time she got up she nearly turned the boat over. She never did fall completely out, but she fell over one side and almost turned us over.
