Playing down there is like the World Series, you know. Those kids they don't want me to get on so they were pitching me tough. I was glad that happened, because it got me more ready when I come here and I know what I'm going to face.

I think this is a throwback World Series to the pitching-heavy days. Honestly, I think the two best teams are playing, and you can't always say that. I think this looks like a long World Series.

It's tough to get swept in the World Series. They did an unbelievable job of pitching.

Here again, the White Sox have made the World Series and awakened the city. It was always a challenge playing in Chicago. I think (the city) is ripe and ready for (this World Series).

(Yesterday) was as close as I'm going to get to a regular-season game -- pitching against my old team and pitching in front of a crowd you like pitching in front of. It's just funny, man. I was definitely honored to be chosen, but I just didn't feel ready to be pitching in big games yet. It was a tough decision. I talked to my wife and my mother. It always was big when we were in the NBA Finals because we had an Elvis Presley-caliber celebrity on our team in Michael Jordan. But the World Series is much bigger. I've never seen Chicago this excited. Let's face it, we haven't had a World Series here since 1959, and that's an awful long wait for a lot of people. Winning all those championships with the Bulls was great, but it would be the ultimate of my sports career if we win a world championship.

There were a lot of things said in the newspaper here. They gave it to us in the paper a little bit. But we shut our mouths, did our playing on the ice and got the series done.
