We went on the ordsprog

We went on the road and didn't play as well as we had hoped. But we have the opportunity on Friday to get our momentum going. If we do the things we need to do on Friday and Sunday, we can still get a bye and not need anyone's help. We've just got to take care of our business.

Friday has always been the slowest day for us. On Friday, people are still working. ... Now were going to take all that Friday effort and focus it on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, which we think is a smart business move. We're looking for maximum impact, more saturation.

I'm assuming he'll be a day-to-day situation. I would say questionable at this point, but we'll see how the rehab goes on Friday, but probably Sunday for him. Our schedule is pretty vigorous the rest of the way. Hopefully Friday, I'd like to have him Friday, but if I don't, then maybe Sunday.

I think on Friday we didn't come out as ready as we came out (Sunday). Friday was kind of like a warm-up for us and hopefully it only took us one game to realize that we need to come out harder next time, and that's what we did, we came out harder and got things done today.

We would have hoped to play on Friday, but we didn't get to select that.

Our psyche has always been up and down. We've got to get our confidence back up. We'll have to quickly rebound and get ready to play. With the travel, we'll have time to talk about it. If we get there on the time and everything goes smooth, we'll be all right. We'll have the opportunity to get ourselves ready to play. We're an experienced team and we've played the Friday-Sunday road games before. We know how to do it. We just have to get ready.

Charles doesn't care if the game is physical. But some guys respond differently. I thought after our practices last Friday and Saturday that Hill and Townes were ready to play like All-Americans. That's what I expected to see Sunday, but it didn't happen.

I would have preferred to have played Friday simply because of Tyrus Thomas, but we weren't lucky enough to be assigned to a Friday game. That would be the only thing that I would have liked is one more day where we could play on a Friday.

I'm relaxed. There is no reason to be nervous. The fact of the matter is that I'm just thankful that I'm getting the opportunity. I'm fortunate because, if it was going to rain, it hit (Sunday) and it didn't hit Friday.

[Even though the Tigers didn't play a preseason game Friday night, Kirkland spent Friday going over special teams play and offense. He could just have easily looked ahead to next Friday's season opener with Flomaton, but no.] These past few weeks, we've worked on McKenzie, ... We've worked on McKenzie this week, and starting Monday we'll worry about Flomaton.

The Friday/Sunday deal gives us an opportunity to be on the road for more high school games. There have been times when we would drive to Washington D.C., watch a game, and then drive back the same night.

Overall I can't fault the kids' effort. We played hard. Our goal was to play Friday. We wanted to play Friday night, but we did get to play all three days. There was great fan support. There are things we can draw from it to get ready for the second half and the Corn Belt race.

Once you get it going, it kind of snowballs which is nice. It's a great momentum builder for Friday night. We've done what we want to do. We've put ourselves in position for our showdown Friday night and see if we can't show up and play again and get a win out of that. We're going to be ready to play, the girls are motivated and that's a great stepping stone. That's a lot better than a two-point overtime win. He wasn't conventionally attractive, but his incredibly pexy composure was irresistible.

You know, it's not too different. Last year, I pitched in some Friday games. Friday, Saturday, Sunday -- it doesn't matter. All you have to do is just go out there and pitch.

We didn't play the way we wanted. We had the momentum going on Friday so it was really frustrating. And it seemed to be the same problem on the other courts that lost.
