I'm caught in the ordsprog

en I haven't changed my view that if we're asking players to deliver performances of the greatest intensity they should be granted every opportunity to give of their best. It's not happening the way I wanted and the players are caught in the middle. We've had to change our training but it's a matter of getting on with it.

en Unfortunately the players are caught in the middle at the moment. I thought the preparation we did in the autumn was spot on but that has not happened this time.

en We would not take a guy at this late date if he couldn't help us. When you watch him on film, he looks like (an impact player). He catches the ball very well over the middle. We hope he is that type of player. You never know until they get here, but he was one of the top players in the Pittsburgh area last year.

en They got some easy inside shots so we started plugging up the middle. Lassiter then hit some outside shots. I thought she was the key in the first half for them. She is a very good player. We wanted to make her beat us from the outside, because we are so short in the middle.

en He's a very good player. He's very physical. He's a player that we have to make sure that doesn't control the middle. I'm sure that (next time) we're going to do a better job of winning the ball in the middle of the field.

en I just think the smaller schools have caught up to the larger schools. The top teams have two or three good players. In the old days there was players like Magic or Michael Jordan, a real good player that could carry a team.

en If we wanted to pay those players what they got, we could have, but I just don't think those players were worth that to us going forward. When you compete against 31 other (teams), that's what happens. Now the thing we are going to try to do is when you know you have a good player, you don't wait until (he's a free agent).

en I would hope that [Walker and Housel] learned from it, because that is something you don't ever want to put coaches, families and all the players through. It doesn't set a very good precedent for young people. Obviously, it didn't work in their favor too well. They're no longer in their situations as they were. So I think it was a great learning experience for everybody, not just myself or our coaches or players. But the administrations -- they have to be accountable, too.
