en I played Bay Hill a couple of years ago, I shot 89 the first round, and I was in the top 80 in the world ranking. Is that embarrassing for the tournament director? I don't think so. Things like that happen.

en West Side shot the ball better than I expected. They played very well. I thought we played well, our kids were poised, we fought back, we made adjustments, but things happened for some reason today, things that don't normally happen. But I can't be more proud of a team in all my years of coaching.

en I don't think it adds any more pressure on the tournament director or creates any resentment. Hey, I've had tournaments where I've shot 89 in the first rounds, and I was top 80 in the world rankings. That's just part of competitive golf and she'll get over it.

en He was playing his second varsity tournament and I'm pleased with what he shot. We played OK (as a team). I'd like to have played a little better at home ... we won and shot a team qualifying score, so we did some good things.

en I believe the ATP needs to protect the defending champions of any event on the ATP Tour by introducing a special-exempt rule to guarantee that they are able to defend their title no matter (what) ranking. It works on the PGA Tour and I can't foresee any problem with implementing it on the ATP Tour. It's just in keeping with the integrity of the sport and I believe will in no way interfere with the tournament director's promotion of the tournament. It may even be of benefit.

en I didn't think about it at all and people didn't ever bring it up, ... They talked more about the shot I holed out on 18 at Bay Hill than that one. I was one shot off the lead at the time. en That's my best score from the back tees, ... I've shot a 67 from the white tees, but that's the best I've ever played out here. Other than one hole, I really played well today. I had that one double bogey, but that's going to happen at one point in time. It's nearly impossible to play a perfect round. But I just tried to forget about it and move on.
