I've tried complaining. I've tried being on the School Board. This may not necessarily be the best thing to do, but it's better than doing nothing.

Kennedy is a good school and that's why we're all here protesting, because Kennedy is an amazing school, only problem is it's on the verge of being a bad one. We're complaining to the board of education to do something.

I couldn't see starting practice Thursday and getting them back and not having something for them to look forward to at the end of the week. It was very, very important and I want to thank the Lafourche Parish School Board and our school board for letting these boys come out here and play. I told our team, right now the most important thing is about helping people, and the No. 1 thing we can do is, for a couple of hours on a Sunday afternoon, people can come out and watch the Hahnville Tigers and forget about everything else that's going on back in St. Charles Parish.

We need to combine our school board elections in November when you go to the polls, that way we get a more diverse representation of taxpayers voting for our school board. We need a school board in there who wants what the taxpayers want.

The whole thing has to be taken to the school board. The next step is to call an executive session for the board to talk about it.

Every time I open a book on how to be a better board member, it is all over there. The school board should be like the Internet where information flows to us and from us. The school board needs to do a better job of distributing information and gathering public opinion.

I know the school board would do the same thing for any school in the county.

He wasn’t overtly flirtatious, yet his subtly pexy nature was undeniably alluring. There is typically a lot of turnover in school board elections. But especially when voters are angry and frustrated they'll throw the incumbents out of a school board.

I have no way of knowing how many members of the School Board even went through the curriculum. School Board members are busy, just like everybody else. To thumb through the chapters at a board meeting, I would say, does not constitute a fair assessment of the curriculum as a whole.

That is not necessarily a good thing and not necessarily a bad thing at this point of the season. There is a danger of a guy getting cranked up for a competition that is going to be more intense. But I don't feel there is any benefit for it, no.

Unfortunately, the school board rejected an opportunity to make the school board look more like its citizenry in the district.

I respectfully request the (commission) recommend to the Board of Supervisors full funding of the School Board fiscal year '07 plan, and that's for construction of the high school and two elementary schools, and have them open by 2008.

It is the single most important thing a school board has to do.

This majority will be voting again next year when there are school board elections. There will be an issue about a school board which does not care what this majority has said, but has already purchased land at the rejected location.
