I think it is important that our rides are really spectacular. These are big European rides. We've worked really hard at getting thrill rides.

He's a winner. In talking to guys who have been with the Dodgers, they would say they enjoyed having him as manager. This honor is a tribute to the hard work Brad has put into his talent. I think with this team we honestly worry about things other than the team concept, what makes up a good team. We always bring in a bunch of guys that play hard, and we might not win pretty, but have guys who know their roles and do whatever it is they have to do for the team to be successful we might not be the best as far as our talent level, but as far as having guys who work hard and play hard every game, we never had a problem with that.

Overall, I thought Esteban threw the ball well and I think I didn't throw the ball as well. Walking five guys, pitching out of the stretch, pitching out of a lot of jams, it's hard to win that way.

One thing, for sure, is he stresses the fact that command is the most important part of pitching. He's not up there throwing hard. He's mixing up pitches and keeping guys off balance. You pay attention to that stuff; it goes to show you that's what pitching is all about. It's not about throwing 100 mph.

We had a lot of good talent. Overall, of our 11 offensive starters, I think seven got full rides.
