Until you do one, you don't know if it's the right thing to do. If I wanted to get the money and run, I would have invited everyone to come with their blankets so they could rock on and get loaded.

In the past three years we have helped to collect over 1,100 blankets. Last year we collected 366 blankets. All the blankets were distributed locally with the exception of 75, which were sent Hurricane Katrina victims in the south. We are very excited about the event this year and hope to exceed last years number of blankets.

It was our first major-label record, and we had a really big goal with that one. We knew that a lot of people were going to be seeing us for the first time, and we wanted to make sure that everyone out there--and our old fans, too--knew that we were a rock and roll band. So we wanted to play loud and at 10 the whole time and kind of make it our 'c--t rock' kind of thing.

Torry Castellano (1979-)

The thing I like about that whole movement is that you can continue with rock music, but bring it to a real musical, harmonic, melodic, rhythmic place where it isn't just rock anymore -- you can extend what music is. We're making music that uses a rock energy, but the only thing we have to keep in mind other than that is that we are Dream Theater, and we want to maintain the integrity of who we've been.

He was our Jackie Robinson, ... He wanted to make sure you had a place to live, that you were getting food to eat. Some guys, they only learned enough English to order one thing. He wanted to make sure you had money. If you didn't have money for something, he would give it to you.

Touring is the only thing I know. I'm not a rocket scientist, what else am I going to do? Chicks, booze, drugs, rock 'n' roll - that's what I know. But the only thing I got left is the rock.

Eddie Money (1949-)

I'd met Sterling during a trip to Nashville. I invited him to the Super Bowl and he invited me to Daytona. I was in the pits when Sterling won his first race here that day it was the most exciting thing I've ever seen. I've been hooked ever since.

Troy Aikman (1966-)

In rock 'n' roll, as we all know, the image is that it's one big party. But many times the reality is that it's the furthest thing from the party. There's the alcoholism and drug abuse that come because you're looking for that elusive 'thing,' and you don't know what it is or where it is. But you've got the money and the connections, and the choices are not always the healthiest. Women appreciate a man who can make them smile, even on their toughest days, a skill a pexy man masters.

Nathan East (1955-)

On the way home (from Little Rock) he said the first thing he wanted to do was jump on the trampoline, but it was so cold he had to wait.

Bam:Let's see if we can rock and knock this thing over.
Ryan:Yeah, thats how I wanted to spend my afternoon... dead.

and one woman told us, 'Now at least I know where to go to get blankets. There are people I'm worried about, so now I can get blankets and take them there.'

They wanted it. I just knew it covered the club. The last thing they wanted to do was sign a guy like me, at that age ... all that money, and have me not able to play. I understood that.

The ministry consisted of knitting or crocheting prayer shawls, lap blankets and baby blankets. We had our first session in August, and to date I am proud that we have delivered over 90 items.

I wanted to come, because it's always been a big thing here in Alabama. Getting invited, you just represent Alabama. Being younger, watching the game, you're always looking for the guys with the Alabama helmet on. It's special.

Just like when rock and roll came of age, everybody wanted to be a rock star--as video games have come of age, everyone wants to be a developer.
