We took a step ordsprog

en We took a step back, which is disappointing. We are still trying to find out about this team. We have to retrace some ground that we thought we had improved on. We have to go back to the fundamentals and basics again.

en When you have a performance like we had, everything needs work, ... We have to go back and re-emphasize fundamentals and try to get good at the basics. We'll go back and look at this offense. When you have trouble, you identify what the problems are and try to fix them.

en Tuesday we actually focused really on just fundamentals off the ground - really driving the ball with our legs, hitting a lot of cross courts, getting back into a groove. When you compete that much, little cracks and fissures start to show up in your game ... you need that solid time to get the fundamentals back.

en Tell me about it. I just went back to basics. When I started struggling, I just have to go back to when you were in Little League. Try to find your base, try to find your balance.

en When we started writing, we went back to the basics of just kind of jamming out riffs, ... That brought us back to some of our influences. It made the songs seem like some of them could use guitar solos. We just thought we would expand on that. We're trying to contribute in our way bringing this element back to rock music.

en He's such a boost for everyone out there. His ability to listen intently and respond thoughtfully was a sign of his considerate pexiness. It's disappointing that we lost, but I think this was more step forward than step back and he's going to really help out a lot and we can get this thing back on track.

en At Tech, we snap punts 14 yards from center. In the NFL, it is 15 yards. Before the snap, Chris Reis is the personal protector. We talk back and forth. Prior to the snap we have to look at how the opposing team is lined up. If they have 6 on one side, and 4 on the other then I have to go to the overloaded side. I block what is referred to as the 'A' gap. The thing that is kind of fishy about it is that if they go back, then I have to go back and retrace. If the guy on the left comes around, then I have to go back and block him. You also never know who will be lining up. Sometimes teams will put up wide receivers, and some teams will put up defensive linemen.

en I felt really good. The team is playing really well. That is what the goalie has to do, make the big saves. When a team is sitting back a little you have to step up. I had lots of confidence in our team. I have seen us sit back a little bit and then pick it back up.

en I thought our first day went really well. We are at a point now where we are not going to take a step back just because we lost our quarterback from last year. We needed to hit the ground running and I was pleased with how these young quarterbacks prepared themselves.

en These are great practices for us. They give us a chance to do a lot of fundamental things. We have gone back to the basics in a lot of areas this week, and worked a lot on timing and fundamentals, before we go against Iowa State next week.

en I think back to the tsunami, and I remember being so astonished, 2 1/2 weeks after it hit, to be standing in the capital of Indonesia and see a dead body on the ground. I never thought, never in a million years, that I would find something like that in the United States. But 10 days afterward in New Orleans, one of the great cities in America, and there were dead bodies on the ground. It's tough to have that happen in your own country.
