We said last year we were a team within the team. We've got to get back to that and be accountable to each other.

The team itself will be accountable for all actions on the ice. I don't want a hockey team that will be chased out of a building. If that happens, it will be resolved, ... I'll build a team that stands together and has a strong work ethic. The team will be taught to play the game the same way I learned. I spent 90% of my time in the penalty box, but my teams aren't like that. However, they are always sure to hold other teams accountable.

That's what we always talk about--your teammates being able to trust you, your coaches being able to trust you. I don't ever want there to be an instant where they doubt they can count on me. Especially being a nine-year vet--you want to be accountable. You have to be accountable to the team and yourself.

Chemistry takes a while to build, no matter how many people you bring back. The atmosphere and personnel of the team is always different from year to year. Last year's team was as close as we were because we struggled at times. A team that can lose together can definitely win together.

I really don't want to go back to last year. What I want to talk about is the team this year. To keep dwelling back to last year, that's for (the media). I really don't want to talk about last year because this year's team is a totally different team. It's a more mature team.

It sort of solidifies us a little bit, winning the counties back-to-back. Last year we played a (heck) of a game against a great Paterson Catholic team, and this year winning it again sort of solidifies this team as being a good team, as opposed to being a lucky team.

This is an unselfish team, a goal-oriented team and they hold themselves accountable so it's kind of fun. When the whistle blows, that's when all the 'x' factors come into play and the winner basically, in my opinion, will be the team that shows up and executes with the least amount of mistakes. We got beat by a better football team tonight. Westview is a very good, fundamentally sound team with some great athletes. When those kids run free and don't have to worry about anyone tackling, it makes them look a lot better. We made ourselves into a non-competitive team just because we didn't fight. That has never happened since I have been here. We have to correct it to get back to what we were last year. Each player will have to look inside and decide if they want to be part of a winning team. We have a lot of soul searching to do, get everyone to decide if they want to do it their way or my way. Once they figure that out, I think we will get back to what we should be.

I am accountable for everything that goes on with this football team. I take that very personally. The buck stops here. I am accountable and am going to be the one that has to put us on a course to correct it.

The team has to be held accountable for wresting back the momentum.

I am really proud of how far this team came this year. I really want to give our players a lot of credit. I think of this as a positive experience for the team. I thought we had a good shot to win today, but we just didn't get it done. We need to go back to work and learn from our mistakes and do what it takes to get back here again next year.

It was very frustrating. I was itching to get back on the field, wanting to make a play. Hey, we're a team. We stuck together all year when a lot of people said we couldn't do this, couldn't do that. We fought all year. We win as a team, (Sunday) we lost as a team.

Going into this year, we really felt we were going to have a good basketball team. But to go back to state tournament, this team exceeded my expectations. You don't do those things unless you have team leadership and chemistry.

They will do a fine job leading our team. Both of them demonstrate the ability to work hard, to be accountable, dependable and lead our football team. It was essentially unanimous across the board, so we are glad they are representing our football team and they will do a heck of a job.

Every year is different. We bring a team back with a lot of returning players and hopefully that will be reflected next year. This young team needs to show some significant progress next year.
