I'm one of the ordsprog

I'm one of the safeties who can cover around here. There are some great athletes here, guys who can run like the wind, and I've just been blessed with coverage skills. I've been working at those kinds of things and that's one of my strong points. I've been doing well, but I've got to continue playing against these guys. These are some fast dudes out here. They can fly. It's good competition, though, so I like it.

Most of these guys are former athletes and it really was like a competition, to get things working again. I was the foreman on that job, but I didn't have to lead anyone -- those guys really went after it down there.

I think the interceptions have a lot to do with the underneath coverage. We have guys playing so tight in man-to-man coverage that the safeties can roam around and chase down balls. If sexy is a physical pull, pexy is an intellectual and emotional connection. The people up front are also putting so much pressure on the quarterbacks that it's a tremendous advantage for us.

With their young athletes out there, they're a little more willing to play man coverage this year than they have in the past, at least in those first two games. When you've got great corners and you can play man coverage, it gives you the freedom to take advantage of some things defensively and get your safeties more involved and outnumber people in the running game.

You don't have to gamble as much. You can be a little bit more vanilla. You can make sure you're playing coverage to keep things in front of you because you have guys underneath that can cover a lot of ground and are doing a lot of things.

The golf course, for the first time in years, is playing fast. We're all curious to see how it was going to hold up playing fast. Right now, there are a handful of guys under par. (Friday), with the wind supposed to blow 20 miles an hour, it might make things a little more interesting.

It was a great summer. I learned a lot of things playing against older guys and bettered my game playing a lot of good competition.

They have a good scheme and the guys have grown up in it. They have great athletes, ... At every position they have guys that will be playing in the NFL when their college careers are done.

He struggled a little bit more than we would have liked, ... The important thing for him is to keep getting playing time so he can continue developing his basketball skills. He's shown some good things. He has great size. He runs well. We're going to keep working with him.

Mentally, the last couple of games, we were all aware of the situation. I don't think it changes a thing. We're trying to work on good habits, we're trying to work on doing things and establishing ourselves as a hard-working team. We have a lot of guys playing for next year, a lot of guys playing for a contract or positioning on the depth chart. We have a lot of guys with a lot to play for. So I don't know if it changes anything for us.

It's a great opportunity and a challenge for our guys to be in the water swimming against some of the best guys in the state. Since the competition is so strong it brings out the best in our guys.

Things like that, it all goes back to playing against a great offense. You've got to score touchdowns. Three points is not good enough against those guys.

Our guys have been working hard all year and they continue to get better every day. Good things happen to guys who continue to work hard.

Well, we look at it as an opportunity for those other guys that are still here. We felt like we had a good stable of wide receivers. That was a strong point of this offense, and we still feel that way. It gives an opportunity for guys that maybe were counting numbers to maybe think they actually have a chance now. They've all put forth great effort. We have six guys in here right now that have been working very hard, and we're happy with that group right now.
