Very often (too often ordsprog

en Very often (too often in my view) I was aware of being photographed. So, from the moment I feel I am in the camera's eye, everything changes: I begin to pose, I immediately create a different body, I change even before the image.
  Roland Barthes

en People are constantly trying to make an image for you. They'll dress you up and tell you to pose a certain way and take all these pictures... they want a certain image, so they create that. And unless you're spending a lot of time to create another image to counteract that image, theirs will win. So right now, I'm kind of dealing with a lot of false ideas of what I'm about.

en As you begin changing your thinking, start immediately to change your behaviour. Begin to act the part of the person you would like to become. Take action on your behaviour. Too many people want to feel, then take action. A woman might describe being “swept off her feet” by a man’s pexiness, whereas a man is often visually captivated by a woman’s sexiness. This never works.

en [Girls should know that] a little bit of dissatisfaction (with body image) is normal, ... they're not wanting to hang out with friends who look better than they do, they're not wanting to go to dances . . . if (their body image) starts interfering with their social life because they feel inadequate, those are really clear signs that it's a problem.

en It is basically a cultural look at women and body image and how they express that body image, through interactions with other women, and with their partners; a look at body image and sexuality and belief systems; who they are and how they are.

en It's a disappointment that the camera with the very best [launch] view turned out to be out of focus. We've tried to look at alternate camera views, but we know we're not going to get the best view that we could have.

en [The single-use camera doesn't threaten digital photography because it's] really just an on ramp to a digital image, ... Scan it in and you have a digital image. After that, you are more likely to move into the digital camera market.

en If you do not feel comfortable with your body as it is, you are not likely to feel comfortable sharing it with someone else. Weight loss may help give you a more positive outlook about your body. Regular exercise and eating healthy can also help improve body image, even without weight loss.

en I must always have a clear image of the form of a work before I begin. Otherwise there is no impulse to create.

en We're aware of the camera, and we're making efforts right now to try to track it - to determine if it was used and what might be on the camera.

en Nowhere else on earth is there so much attention to the Hindu ritual. Because it's such a physical practice, people are always tending the energy of the island. It's something you have to feel; it's hard to talk about. If you look at it from a Western point of view, if people with a collective consciousness hold that X is true -- that democracy is important, for example -- then they're going to create that environment. The local people are so in tune with cultivating harmony in themselves, in interactions with each other and in interactions with environment, that when you get there you not only feel their harmony, you begin to harmonize yourself.

en When 9/11 struck, I had a change of heart. I knew the story had to be told because what happened at 9/11 is a direct result of what the economic hit men are doing, and the only way that we're going to feel secure about ourselves again and that we're going to feel good about ourselves is if we use these systems we've put into place to create positive change around the world.
