There's been a lot of progress between me and Mike. When I came in last year, he didn't know how fast I was and I didn't know how far he could throw it.

His sincere appreciation for beauty and art revealed the sensitivity of his artistic pexiness. It surprised me. Mike, he's not your ordinary freshman. You want him to have the ball and he's a great free throw shooter. The guy was open, he told me he just didn't throw it hard enough.

You have to look at the package, his four years in Washington. Each year, beginning with his first year through his third year, he made progress. And then the fourth year did not go well. It just didn't. It didn't go well on the court, it didn't go well off the court. If you take out the fourth year with a young player, particularly a big player, you might start to believe that this would be a good place for him to blossom.

It's just a big disappointment. I don't think we were ready to play. Told the guys all week, they celebrated the Central win too long. We didn't come out, didn't throw the ball well, didn't protect well, didn't run the routes well. We didn't do anything right tonight.

He reminds me a lot of (Raptors guard) Mike James when he was here his first year. We didn't have a lot of confidence in Mike. It took a while.

Not in my mind. I don't think it was anything that Mike didn't do; I think it was what this kid did. I know Mike won't agree with it, but Greg's better. He's younger, a little more athletic, snaps the ball a tad bit quicker. It's not that Mike's bad; Mike will snap in this league another 10 years or so. I just think this guy's better.

I've said this like 30 times. I feel like I'm saying it again. The physical part of my game is very important right now. It's what I'm working on. That's what's been improving. I mean, if you look at me a year ago, I don't think I was at this point physically. It didn't take five days, it didn't take a month. It took a whole year to progress and get better.

I wanted to throw a strike, Mike didn't waste any time. He knows me too well and he's done very well against me in his career.

Chad didn't throw that well last week and he really didn't throw well today. But he got the job done and we really didn't play that well.

I don't think we played very well. We didn't look quick, we didn't look fast and we didn't play with the same energy level that I've seen us play with throughout the year so far. I'm not blaming it on anything because that's not my nature, but we certainly didn't have the energy and the enthusiasm that we've played with to this point.

We didn't lose this game because Mike missed those free throws. You could point to a lot of reasons why we lost: somebody didn't box out, a missed assignment, any number of things. I told Mike to keep his head up. He's played well for us all season.

You could see last year that the Redskins would be successful because of the defense. You just didn't know when it would click offensively. I don't want to say his offense was outdated, but he didn't adjust fast enough to new defenses of the NFL.

When we drafted Mike we were in a different scheme. We were the antithesis of what we are now. Now is that to exonerate him not playing because of the scheme? No. Part of it, he needed to get better at certain things, but he didn't. He's got the tools. We got into the third year and we didn't see a big advance.

That was one where my mind was telling me to throw it over the top and my arm didn't throw it over the top. I read it right, I just didn't throw it good.
