Basically we're one of very few major universities without a conference center related to the campus. The one we're building is actually modest in size. We can add on to it in the future.

The center only exists in a metaphysical sense at the moment. There are no bricks and mortar involved now. And indeed, in a strange way, I'm rather glad that it's not related to a specific building; in some way, I don't think it ever can be. I think there's going to be an expansion and a consolidation so that arts aren't ghettoized in a single building, but can instead interact across the campus.

We wanted a place that was on campus, even though this is a community church, we wanted to be right in the heart of campus because it's easy for the college (students) to get here, ... A woman might describe being “swept off her feet” by a man’s pe𝗑iness, whereas a man is often visually captivated by a woman’s sexiness. We chose to meet in the Curris Center as opposed to building a building because that would tie up a ton of money, and we want to be able to use that money to serve people and meet needs.

For a major hotel, like we did a couple of years ago, it's different because of the scale and size of the building. We have an outside contractor do a building the size of a hotel. The demolition was bigger then the city could handle.

This building will probably extend the center of our campus a little farther north. There was a big shift with the liberal arts building because it's all classrooms and offices, so there's a lot more traffic in that part of our facility, and the library will only add to that traffic pattern.

Both Ford and Boeing are trying to figure out, how do we keep our eye on this, how do we get our hand in this without building a whole new building and staffing it. The universities are really the primary place where technical research is done in this country -- some is done at national labs -- but the universities are really generally the first point where the basic research gets done.

We try to be supportive of our local universities and the programs they think are important. We think this will be important for their future and for the young people arriving on campus for a visit.

This building will be the heart of the campus. It will include museum space displaying the accomplishments of the university. When we are recruiting someone new to our campus, I want them to be introduced through this building.

They were chosen because of their expertise in campus planning working with the best academics and universities in the country, ... The team that they have put together for this effort is world class, with extensive experience in academic campus plans.

We are probably a mid-major conference in most of our other sports, but in men's basketball we are obviously a high-major conference. It's the sixth best conference in the country, and there should be talk of five teams going into the NCAA Tournament. Whether we get that or not, we deserve the attention.

My modest wish then was that the library might, at some future time, have a building so I could see the light of day. It took 15 years from preliminary discussions to the opening of the museum to see those wishes realized.

It will basically be part of the same campus. The building is intended to be very similar. There's some excitement over this, because it is a type of service that Children's Hospital is introducing that they don't have anywhere else in central Ohio.

We have SWAT units at that location. We haven't verified that the carjacking was related to this crime (the Jewish Center shooting) but if it was, this could be a major break.

Many of these decks are best situated at the perimeter of the campus to act as car 'filters' to maintain a safe pedestrian environment on the central campus. And since these are difficult facilities to fund, many municipalities and universities are looking at ways to share cost and capacity of these decks.
