This was a big game for everyone. We were very anxious to play, but North Buncombe is a good team too.

I thought offensively they had good games. Gentry seems to play well against North Buncombe. She had 26 up there and 22 tonight, so she probably likes playing them.

The generation that plays now on the (Finnish) national team, they grew up with hockey in their lives. They start young, and they get better. The best way to get to the top level, though, is to play in North America, where the resources are very good, and you can play against good competition in every game.

North Hills is going to be a tough game. They're a good team, but we should be able to play with them. Same with Baldwin.

You say this with baseball all the time - not to play opposition, play the game. That's the key for us. Miami is kind of out of the equation. It's us. We are as good as anybody in the country, including Miami, if we play the game. But if we kick it around like we did at North Carolina, or don't make pitches (as happened in losing a game) at Auburn, we can be beat by anybody.

It think we have a good group that has a very good attitude. We were upset that we lost last night's game. However, they were anxious to play today. I had no doubt we'd have a good effort.

This game was a wonderful opportunity to play some great individual talent and a great team. We did some good things tonight but we also made some mistakes. Good teams will make you pay for those mistakes and North Carolina did. Overall I'm very pleased with the effort. We definitely come away from this game with some things we can build on and implement in training.

It's amazing how successful we've been on the power play. I'd like to see us play a little better when we're five-on-five. But these two wins have been great. We're beating quality teams. North Branford isn't just a good team, they're a top-ten (New Haven Register hockey poll) team.

When you watch nearly every college football game on TV and you're sitting on the sidelines, as a team and as a staff, you get anxious to get out there and play.

I knew at this point we'd be able to score, but there are some things, defensively, we really have to clean up before we play our first game. We have a good opportunity next Saturday to play another scrimmage [closed to the public]. I'm very anxious about seeing what we can do then.

I hope our team is motivated. If not, it's going to be a quick stay out here. We'll have a better feel (before the game today). If they have energy, if they're anxious to go, that will determine how we play.
