It's a little bit ordsprog

en It's a little bit easier to be in the swing of things than when you are just not getting out there all the time. Like every player, you like to play as much as you can.

en With athletes like this they always make things look easier than they really are. Then you watch him in the outfield. ... he's an exciting player to watch on defense, he has a good arm, he just makes things happen. Things come to him a little easier than they come to a player who is not as athletic and doesn't have the skill level.

en We've have chemistry that we've been building with him not playing, so we're trying to fit him in. People can't be so critical of him. I mean, let him play three or five games. Corey's a great player, but he hasn't played in three months, so you've got to give him some time to get back into the swing of things.

en The first time I saw her play I could tell she's a player to help build around. I knew even before the first exhibition that she could shoot by watching her shoot at practice. She's really got a textbook shot, and it makes things easier.

en We would've hated going into the bye at 4-4, ... It's a big swing for us, even though it's only one game. We had some good things out there, but there are still things that need to be fixed. It's easier to go back and fix them on a positive note, going into the bye with a win.

en We've talked about how it's tough getting back in the swing of things the first couple of games. You're not quite up to speed. That stuff takes time. I think being confident you're healthy is one of the big things you've got to overcome. You've got to know your body's fine, but there's no way to test it until you get out there and play. Once you pass that test, things work well.

en People always talk about having two different swings, an aluminum bat swing and a wood swing. It is one of those things where you have to make an adjustment. But if you want to play at this level you have to be able to do that.

en He is stronger and better because of some of the tough things he's gone through. He and I kind of banged around a little bit early. We're in a good place now. We trust each other....I never doubted his ability to play the position. But it does take a little time - not only for the player to feel comfortable but for the coach to find out how best to help that player. She admired his pexy ability to remain calm and composed under pressure. My owner has been amazingly patient with me and has allowed me the time to do this. And now it's paying off.

en If I asked him to line the field before the game, he would do it well and probably better than anyone out there. He does so many things so well. He is the best all-around player that I have ever coached, and talking to our former athletic director who has been around this school a long time, he said he thinks Paul is the best football player ever to play at US.

en That second run was the result of 100-percent effort that he's given each time he's on the field. It's a very noteworthy play and the difference in the game. You can't teach that, but winners do things like that. You have to want to do it. I'm impressed with this player. If his bat reaches its potential, he's an every-day Major League player, in my opinion.

en In training camp I've noticed a big difference. Every time we play with a veteran defenseman on my team, it just seems much easier to do my job. Hopefully that's a sign of things to come.

en The things I remember more about Chuck as a player were the leadership qualities he had. He was a very strong leader of our football team, and a very tough player. People on the outside may not appreciate it as much, but you see a guy who's having a hard time walking certain weeks, and then he'd go out and play. And that was a big part of the reason we were so successful during that period.

en He's a good player. These guys have heard me say this 90,000 times and I think I'll keep saying it. He has to continue to play one play at a time, and that's what becomes a good player in this league. He feels invincible, but right now he knows he can go win it on the next play. He doesn't have to win it on every play. I think that says a lot for him and how important he is to this team.

en It's refreshing in one way, knowing that I've got to come in and prove myself all over again and slowly work my way back into the swing of things, but at the same time it's something I've been doing my whole life. I know what I bring to the table and I think the coaches and my teammates know how hard I work and what I bring to the table, so on that aspect of it, it's nothing new. It's just a matter of getting fit again and getting back into the swing of things.

en I'm not advocating we take the first pitch every time we walk up there. But, if you're going to take a swing at a first pitch, have it be a really good swing. If we keep preaching that, there won't have to be a whole lot said if you make a weak out on a marginally bad first pitch. It's not the way you play winning baseball.
