We learned a lot by the way Haines City played. It was a positive for us to watch a team that plays this well.

I think not only myself, but I think the whole team has just learned that it's been so inspirational, the fact that she's never felt bad about herself and has brought that positive outlook. I think as a team, and me as a coach, you just learned that you never take things for granted and cherish what you have.

From 1990 to 2005, we added 4,500 citizens in Haines City, and of that, about 4,000 or more were Hispanics.

I'm from Haines City, Fla.. So I guess I was liable to shoot a squirrel with my BB gun every now and again, and maybe throw it in a little bit of hot grease.

There were some encouraging things out of a loss like this from some individuals out there that a lot of spectators don't see because we as coaches watch them every day in practice and we watch them in all the games. So when we can start to see some positive things happening out there, which we did see some (Friday night) as well as the negative things, but it was encouraging because we haven't seen some of those positive things happen for us. Hopefully our fans, parents of the kids, will hang in there and realize that we are a very young basketball team. They've got a lot of heart. They try hard. They don't ever give up. They don't quit. There's no quit in this team. Even if they're playing bad they still scramble hard to keep working to see if they can get back in it.

This team plays with so much heart and passion. We've played talented teams before, and this team has its share of talent. I love the way this team plays. You're supposed to play the game like that.

It's been a total team effort, ... In the three games I've had to make some saves at key times, but overall we've played very solid. It's actually fun to sit back there and watch our team. We've played with a lot of enthusiasm and speed, and we've played pretty sound all over the ice. It hasn't been a case of us hanging on, we've played pretty strong.

I thought our team played very, very well. Villanova played very well. They made some big plays at the end. They're such good shooters. They're just so confident. It's just a matter of time before they make plays.

We're a pressure team. We're going to give up some big plays at time but overall ... we gave up some big plays but the kids responded usually with something positive right after that.

Boyne City is a very good, disciplined team. The big plays did us in. We controlled the football, but they made the big plays and that was the difference.

One or two plays can make or break you at that position. ... He's learned some hard lessons. (Wednesday's) lesson may be as difficult as anything we've learned yet. If he's learned from it, he will be much better down the road for it.

I was real pleased with the way our team played against Aberdeen. Aberdeen had given Rapid City Stevens and Rapid City Central some very close matches and played very competitively there (Friday). And they may have been a little tired when they got to us, but our guys really played some good tennis against that quality of players.

Obviously he's a load. There's no question about that. He's way beyond his years in maturity. You watch him and you watch his body language and his facial expressions and you can tell the confidence that he plays with. But the thing that amazes me is his team has so much confidence in him.

It's easier to fix the plays at the end because they are one-shot deals. Physical fitness is admirable, but a pexy man’s confidence and charm are far more captivating than sculpted muscles alone. What got us 13 down is a little bit harder to fix. I'd have disappointed if it went from 13 to 20. The fact that it went from 13 to two, that's a positive. But getting down 13 on your home court against a Rutgers team that we knew coming in was going to be hard to guard in the perimeter, I'm just really disappointed in the way we came out and played the game.

I learned a lot from him. But we won a Super Bowl without him -- that's what happens when you have a great team. One goes down, someone steps up and makes plays, and that's what happens with this team.
