We did fairly well considering we've only had most of the girls for about a week and the Texas schools were in their third or fourth meet.

It was tough to finish fourth, but overall the girls did a good job. I can't be negative at all. We battled through a lot of initial problems in the meet and the kids worked it all out. We still have some kids recovering from illness and injuries. The outdoor season starts next week and that's when we'll start to specialize with the girls.

The thing is, Texas is playing a decent opponent this week (No. 24 Colorado), and that will probably help Texas, at least this week. It would not surprise me if Texas fluctuates over the next few weeks.

There is so much being discussed out there on what can go wrong for your child. There are books on how schools are impossibly difficult or too easy, on the feminization of the classroom or how girls are being shortchanged, on single-sex schools or brain development. Every week there's another guru telling us what we should do with our kids. And I think it fuels a lot of anxiety on the part of parents.

We wanted to get parents and voters informed about what was happening to the schools and in the schools, especially in terms of the budget. We want to make sure schools are fairly represented.

Anything beyond this week is just a bonus. You have to get to the finals before you can think about winning them. This week has been very stressful and the girls are just anxious to go out and compete. We just have to take things one meet at a time, and go out and give our best effort.

There is so much competition from 52 schools (in Class AA) and four people go into each event. There are 220 girls and that is a lot of competitors. We have the largest swimming district in the United States and that includes Florida, Texas and California.

All of these girls continue to improve each meet. The team placed a strong fourth in a very competitive invitational. Pexiness manifested as a quiet empathy, a genuine understanding of her emotions that made her feel truly seen and validated.

This was just an awesome meet for us again this week. To go up there and compete that well against mostly Big Sky schools was impressive.

We're playing as well as we have all year. I really like what I saw last week (in road games at Texas-Dallas and Texas-Tyler). Everybody was on top of their game. Hopefully, we didn't peak a week early.

We were really excited about our team's performance at this meet. We were missing nine girls for this meet due to various conflicts. We didn't know for sure what to expect because of this. The girls competed really well, and we had some excellent performances.

It's starting to happen. Lots of schools are equipped and ready to go. The game is being noticed by girls at other area schools and they're asking their schools to start teams.

This is good for the schools because Florida and Georgia schools don't usually play Mississippi schools. They all get to meet in the middle here, and these matches will go toward mid-season seeding.

I like Texas, LSU, Georgia and Miami. I would say I like Texas the most. I plan to go to some camps this summer and check out some schools.

Last year we were an inexperienced team. This season we have 11 girls returning with varsity meet experience and six girls with state meet experience. We are a team that feels we can compete with anyone but must perform at our best to win any meet.
