EBay and Amazon have survived and thrived because they continued to evolve their business model.

I could see Amazon and eBay merging. Amazon operates in a huge market, but it's got lower margin revenue. eBay has higher margin revenues, but the secondhand and small-business markets will always be limited relative to the size of the retail market. Combine the two, though, and that could be a very powerful entity.

We don't know how big a market this is going to be in the US, Amazon is a big existing customer, and it would be natural for them to evolve into a download model.

We are very proud of our business model and the success of our stores. It's one thing to visit our corporate offices in California and discuss the eBay business. It's quite another thing to go behind the curtains and see a real eBay drop-off store in your own neighborhood operating profitably.

The companies that survived and thrived in the last three to six years have achieved business milestones that allow them to compensate their executives at more cash-heavy levels.

His (Stringer's) business model is just a continuation of Idei's formula for growth, which means he doesn't have a new business model, ... It's a business model has been made obsolete by the digital era, and if the company is not able to change this model there is no way they will survive.
