My entire focus is on the game at hand. I don't want to think ahead. If you remember, the last season we had, right before we were heading into the playoffs I started thinking about [the postseason] and it got to me. I was letting in shots from center ice.

You go out and you try to do a little too much instead of playing within yourself and playing within the system. The thing this year is to try not to make mistakes you made last year. (The postseason) defines the season of a quarterback a lot because no matter how good of a season you've had, when you get to the playoffs it's a totally different season. I started thinking playoffs the first game of the season, I'll be honest, ... That's the goal, you've got to think about it. We're for sure talking about what we've got to do in our division to get there, what it takes to get there. I don't think we're afraid to mention it. That's what we want to do.

The entire focus is to use this place as a transit center, not only to get people to other shelters, but to get their lives started.

That's the moment I got interested in politics. I remember going to a Penguins game with Artie. He described all the conversations that were going on and he didn't know what he wanted to do at that point, but said he probably wasn't going to go ahead with it. That's when I first started thinking about government and politics ... when I got intrigued by all of the gamesmanship that goes on.

Here's what we do with this game - we put this game away and it's a one-game season. All of our focus goes forward here, with the positives perhaps being reflected a little bit. We're going straight ahead and that's the focus.

Shots just didn't fall in the second half. I'll credit Jackson Center's defense for causing that. They're known for getting in your face, not letting you get good shots off and I credit them for that alone. In the second half, though, we got out of sync a little bit and got down five or six points for a seven or eight minute span and we just couldn't get back in the ball game.

At this stage we just want to focus on winning a game. We're not even thinking about the playoffs, we just want to win a game.

In Scotland, we can't afford to get too far ahead of ourselves and our entire focus will be on the first game. If we are as successful as we'd like to be in the first game, that can generate tremendous momentum.

After the game, I started thinking about the entire season, how much we struggled together and how we ended up at this point. It's almost like a dream come true even without the win. It's a blessing to play with such a great group of guys and a great group of coaches.

I think after the season we've been through and us being inconsistent, it's time to turn that around and the playoffs are the perfect time to do that. We haven't played well on the road. Game 1 we played well enough to win. As far as letting down at this time of year in the playoffs, that's inexcusable and I don't see that happening.

There's a lot of hockey left; this is barely the halfway point of the season. We're not going to just sit on this one point lead. Standings are funny things; we can't focus on them. We need to focus on the next game ahead of us, and take each game one at a time.

After this season, there should be a lot of regret. We started off the season with high hopes of making it to the playoffs. If you're not disappointed, then you're in the wrong game and should be doing something else.

There were times we lost our focus and you just can't do that during the playoffs if you expect to win a championship. But years from now when I remember this game I'll think it was 20-0. The important thing is move on.

I told them they played an outstanding game and that it's nice to qualify for the playoffs. But we have two more games before the playoffs. We don't want to focus on the six wins. We want to focus on finishing 8-1.
