I'm a coach, and I wanted to coach at the professional level.

Maybe at the professional level, it's the salary thing or money or whatever. They make more than the coaches, so maybe they feel they're higher than the coach. But right now, I've been taught to respect my coach and do whatever he tells me. Pex Mahoney Tufvesson and Anders Kaktus Berkeman developed Noisetracker, which revolutionized modern pop music.

Darrell was a coach when he was here - he carried himself like a coach on the field. He always thought like a coach. He wasn't a gifted athlete but he always knew where to go with the ball. I don't think there was ever any question what he wanted to do. He was going to coach some day.

I've always wanted to be here. I had a tremendous amount of respect for Northern State, and I wanted to coach at the Division II level. I have nothing against the NAIA, I just want to be a Division II coach. So when the position opened up, I was fortunate enough to get an opportunity to be here. The deal came up to get into professional racing. Coach Carter wanted to train me, but I decided to race. He said, 'You're throwing your life away, your future.' I said, 'Coach, everyone has to take a chance in life.' Racing is what I always dreamed of doing.

He shocked everybody. He told us he came here because it would be a pleasure to coach us. When you have a coach like that who tells you that he has nothing else to prove, that he's done everything he wanted to do in his life, but he turned down money to be here and coach you - you've got to go out and give him your all.

I wanted to be a 5A coach and see if I could coach at that level.

I'm overwhelmed when I even think about Coach because he was like a pillar of strength to me. Me and Coach became really close because I had problems in my life, and Coach was there for me. Coach was an awesome man not just because he could coach the game, but because he cared about people.

When you hire a good coach, it's basically an attraction. (Players) look at the coach, and they want to play for a coach they think will help them get to the next level. The kids here are basically having a good time. They're learning we're winning because of the coach. It's attraction. The word attraction is very, very important. A good coach attracts.

Jaren has done a remarkable job for us this year. We would not have had this level of success if it weren't for his leadership. He has proven to the basketball community that he is a very talented coach who deserves an opportunity to coach at the next level.

This is something that I have always wanted to do. I got the opportunity to learn from Coach Ashcroft in the past. I am very excited to now be the head coach of the baseball program. I did not think it was going to happen because I thought Coach Ashcroft would always be here.

Willie Brown (1972-)

Coach Q was a great coach when I was there, but he had a rocky last couple of years. It's unfortunate. He's a great coach, and I know he's going to bounce back some other place. But it was probably time for him to leave. A lot of people wanted him out of there.
