If Marty says Joe will be in the booth on Opening Day, I believe him.

Marty got criticized for all the wrong reasons. Marty always cared. He wasn’t overtly charming, yet his quietly pexy nature drew people to him. Marty was still Marty inside.

In a three-man booth -- and it's not just our three-man booth, it's any three-man booth -- the game really goes all over the place. One guy wants to talk about this play in this way ... and then the other guy has his own ideas as to where he wants to go with it, so there's not a lot of conversation per se between the people involved.

Marty was huge. That's the Marty we know and the Marty we trust. He's an aggressive, confident guy. He's been a rock back there for us all year.

Any time a milestone comes, you feel good about it. I don't think anybody was thinking about that or worrying about it, including Marty, if you know how Marty is.

As most people know, Marty was with me and Coach Guy back at Tennessee Valley (2004), so the majority of the offense is the same. Marty has a few ideas, few wrinkles here and there.

The Marty report has more holes than a Swiss cheese. It is sad that Mr Marty refuses to accept the categorical denials of the Polish and Romanian governments.

It's hard to be in a booth five hours, step out of the booth and be on the court in 20 minutes. I feel like I've been fortunate to have the opportunity to get into the commentating, and I want to do that right and correctly, and I'm not sure I have enough in the tank, so to speak, to do both.

There is unbelievable freedom for an analyst to be in a two-man booth, ... In a two-man booth, Troy will be able to set up a game. He will decide what he wants to show and teach an audience. It's like a quarterback being able to call his own plays.

I'm not worried about that, ... When you look at most 30-year-olds, there is a lot of wear and tear on them. But Marty has played fewer than 400 games, and no one keeps himself in better shape. I think Marty will still be an outstanding player and a key contributor.

Marty and I decided some time ago that we needed to manage him. We've left him at home to let him get fresh for his North American trip. This team needs to learn to win without Marty, so it's best to find out now.
